Ketamine is a non-competitive glutamatergic antagonist used to induce sedation and analgesia. In sub-anesthetic doses, it induces hyperlocomotion, impairs memory and evokes stereotypic circling in rodents. Zebrafish (Danio rerio) emerged as a promising new animal model to screen the effects of psychotropic compounds. Here, we investigated the effects of sub-anesthetic doses of ketamine on anxie...

The results of sensitivity test for four Proteus species were compared. P. mirabilis was, in general, more drug sensitive than the other species and P. rettgeri was the least sensitive. The conclusion was drawn that species identification of Proteus is essential in routine bacteriological diagnosis.

A study has been made of the antibiotic sensitivity pattern of 96 strains of Proteus isolated from clinical material and a further 29 strains kindly supplied by Dr. Patricia Carpenter. The results have been analysed in relation to the different species. The effect of electrolytes on the penicillin sensitivity of Proteus species has also been examined.

Electrical sensitivity of a boron nitride nanotube (BNNT)  was examined toward C2H5OH molecules by using density functional theory (DFT)  calculations . It was founding that the adsorption energy(Ead) of ethanol on the  pristine  nanotubes  is about -51.5 kJ / mol, but when  the nanotube has been doped  with Si and Al atoms , the adsorption  and recovery time ch...
