We describe parallel software, PMIRKDC, for solving boundary value ordinary differential equations (BVODEs). This software is based on the package, MIRKDC, which employs monoimplicit Runge-Kutta schemes within a defect control algorithm. The primary computational costs involve the treatment of large, almost block diagonal (ABD) linear systems. The most significant feature of PMIRKDC is the repl...
Estimating time and costs is a crucial factor in application development projects and low error margins are a priority. In line with the very fast evolution of Internet technologies, all applications are quickly becoming Web Applications, which are growing without a consolidated project methodology. Thus there is a clear need for an estimation model for these applications' development projects....
Current software cost estimation models, such as the 1981 Constructive Cost Model (COCOMO) for software cost estimation and its 1987 Ada COCOMO update, have been experiencing increasing difficulties in estimating the costs of software developed to new life cycle processes and capabilities. These include non-sequential and rapid-development process models; reuse-driven approaches involving comme...
Allocation of measurement devices is a necessity of distribution system which is an application of state estimation. In this paper, the problem of active and reactive measurement devices is modeling using a multi-objective method. The objectives of the problem are to minimize the use of measurement devices, increase in state estimation output, improve the state estimation quality and reduce cos...
A cornerstone of software project management is effort estimation, the process by which effort is forecasted and used as basis to predict costs and allocate resources effectively, so enabling projects to be delivered on time and within budget. Effort estimation is a very complex domain where the relationship between factors is non-deterministic and has an inherently uncertain nature, and where ...
In an empirical analysis of sixty-five software maintenance projects in a large IBM COBOL transaction processing environment, the impacts of correctable software complexity upon project costs were estimated. Module size, procedure size, and the use of complex branching were all found to significantly affect software maintenance costs. It was estimated that projects involving maintenance of syst...
This paper deals with the flux estimation for sensorless induction motor drives. Stable zerospeed operation is achieved by using a speed-adaptive full-order flux observer and a simple software compensation of inverter nonlinearities. No voltage feedback is needed for the compensation and hardware costs can be lowered. Experimental results including stable zerospeed operation are shown.
predicting the effort of a successful project has been a major problem for software engineers the significance of which has led to extensive investigation in this area. One of the main objectives of software engineering society is the development of useful models to predict the costs of software product development. The absence of these activities before starting the project will lead to variou...
a successful software should be finalized with determined and predetermined cost and time. software is a production which its approximate cost is expert workforce and professionals. the most important and approximate software cost estimation (sce) is related to the trained workforce. creative nature of software projects and its abstract nature make extremely cost and time of projects difficult ...
