Commercially available arylboronic acids can easily be converted into chiral boronic esters which subjected to Matteson homologations using Grignard reagents. The best results are obtained in one pot protocols without isolation of the ?-chloroboronic ester intermediates. Alkoxides also used as nucleophiles, but corresponding homologated found not stable.

ABSTRACT The phosphonate-substituted zirconium oxo clusters Zr6O2(OBu)12(O3PPh)4 and Zr7O2(OiPr)12(O3PCH2CH2CH2Br)6, with octahedrally coordinated Zr atoms, were synthesized by reaction of zirconium alkoxides with phosphonic acid bis(trimethylsilyl) esters. A series of pyridonate and amidate supported titanium alkoxides have been isolated. These complexes can be readily prepared in high yield, under mild reaction conditions in only two steps from commercially available (Ti(NMe(2))(4)). We have furnished one of the rare examples of discrete catalysts for random copolymer synthesis.
