Background & Aim: Several methods have been reported for refixation of dislocated intraocular lenses (IOLs). However, these methods are associated with some disadvantages including vitreous prolaps, vitreous traction, ocular collapse, intraocular hemorrhage, high astigmatism, and the need for complex intraocular maneuvers. The aim of this study was to evaluate the results of transscleral fi...

Temporal incisions made during cataract extraction have been purported to cause negative dysphotopsia. A case in which negative dysphotopsia occurred after superior scleral tunnel incisions is described. The dystopsia symptoms resolved immediately after intraocular lens exchange using temporal corneal incisions.

PURPOSE To report the results of sutureless scleral fixation of a posterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL) by using our developed simple technique. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 48 eyes of 47 patients who underwent sutureless intrascleral IOL fixation by using our modified technique. A 25-gauge microvitreoretinal knife was used to perform sclerotomies and create l...

Treatment options for symptomatic subluxated or dislocated IOLs include observation; and repositioning, removal, or exchange of the IOL. We describe a surgical technique of trans-scleral suture fixation for subluxated bag-IOL complex. A 29 year old male; known case of bilateral recurrent tubercular panuveitis underwent left eye phacoemulsification with three piece hydrophobic acrylic IOL implan...

We describe a technique that uses a capsular hook to obtain sutureless fibrin glue-assisted transscleral fixation of the capsular bag. The hook passes through a sclerotomy created under a scleral flap and engages the capsulorhexis rim, providing scleral fixation intraoperatively and postoperatively. A standard capsular tension ring expands the capsular fornix. The haptic of the hook is tucked i...

IT is now known that some non-magnetic metal alloys do not remain inert when lodged inside the eye. When such a foreignbody causes irritation, and also when its position in the vitreous seriously interferes with vision, its removal is necessary and justifiable. The surgical approach is through a scleral incision and the instrument passed through this is guided to the foreign-body under ophthalm...
