This paper establishes the Manin conjecture for a certain non-split singular del Pezzo surface of degree four X ⊂ P 4. In fact, if U ⊂ X is the open subset formed by deleting the lines from X, and H is the usual projective height function on P 4 (Q), then the height zeta function P x∈U (Q) H(x) −s is analytically continued to the half-plane ℜe(s) > 17/20.

This paper contains a proof of the Manin conjecture for the singular del Pezzo surface X : x0x1 − x2 = x0x4 − x1x2 + x3 = 0, of degree four. In fact, if U ⊂ X is the open subset formed by deleting the unique line from X, and H is the usual height function on P(Q), then the height zeta function P x∈U(Q) H(x) −s is analytically continued to the half-plane 9/10. The alleviation effect on the Schottky barrier height (SBH) (ΦB) using ultrathin titanium dioxide and hafnium dielectrics in a single layer bilayer stack was demonstrated. ΦB Pt/n-Si contact reduced from 0.53 to −0.058, 0.3, −0.12 eV 3 nm TiO2, 1 HfO2, high-k/high-k insertion, respectively. A maximum of 122% reduction obtained dielectric which is highest ever reported so far diode. This achieve...

Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR or IfSAR), is a geodetic technique uses two or more single look complex synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images to produce maps of surface deformation or digital elevation. It has applications as well, for monitoring of geophysical natural hazards, for instance earthquakes, volcanoes and landslides, also in engineering, in particular recording of su...

Numerous applications of small footprint airborne lidar (light detection and ranging) have provided highly accurate results for estimating forest height. However, the associated acquisition cost remains high, which limits its use for wall-to-wall large area mapping. In this study, we developed a novel framework by integrating GEOBIA (GEOgraphic Object-Based Image Analysis), lidar transects and ...

We determined the axial and radial xylem tension gradients in trunks of young Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco) trees. Axial specific conductivity (k(s-a)) and sap flux density (Js) were measured at four consecutive depths within the sapwood at a stem height of 1 m. By definition, at a given position in the bole, Js is a function not only of k(s-a) but also of the driving force...

Hydraulic limitations associated with increasing tree height result in reduced foliar stomatal conductance (g(s)) and light-saturated photosynthesis (A(max)). However, it is unclear whether the decline in A(max) is attributable to height-related modifications in foliar nitrogen concentration (N), to mesophyll conductance (g(m)) or to biochemical capacity for photosynthesis (maximum rate of carb...

We show that for every homomorphism Γ → S where S is a finite semigroup there exists a factorization forest of height ≤ 3 |S|. The proof is based on Green’s relations.
