A gold nanoparticle was radiolabeled with (125)I and (111)In and functionalized with an MMP9-cleavable peptide to form a multispectral SPECT imaging contrast agent. Peptide cleavage from the nanoprobe by MMP9 was observed in vitro, and distinct pharmacokinetic properties of the contrast agent were observed between tumors with high or low MMP9 expression.
introduction: neurotensin (nt) is a tridecapeptide that binds specifically to neurotensin receptors. several forms of cancer, including small cell lung cancer, colon, pancreatic and prostate carcinomas especially exocrine pancreatic carcinomas express receptors for neurotensin peptide. radiolabeled neurotensin derivatives with a high affinity for these receptors might be used for scintigraphy. ...
The salient pathological feature of Alzheimer disease (AD) is the presence of a high density of amyloid plaques in the brain tissue of victims. The plaques are predominantly composed of human beta-amyloid peptide (beta A4), a 40-mer whose neurotoxicity is related to its aggregation. Radioiodinated human beta A4 is rapidly deposited in vitro from a dilute (less than 10 pM) solution onto neuritic...
The natriuretic peptides are considered to be cardioprotective; however, their receptors have not been identified in human myocardium using radiolabeled analogs. Dendroaspis natriuretic peptide (DNP) has been recently identified as a new member of this peptide family and is thought to be less susceptible to enzymatic degradation. Therefore, we have developed the novel radiolabeled analog [125I]...
A noninvasive method of detecting exposure of phosphatidylserine (PS) on the external surface of the plasma membrane such as nuclear imaging could assist the diagnosis and therapy of apoptosis related pathologies. The most studied imaging agent for apoptosis is Annexin V so far. Because of limitations of Annexin V other agents have been introduced such as small peptides and molecules. Radiopept...
UNLABELLED Thomsen-Friedenreich (TF) antigen is a disaccharide, galactose β1-3 N-acetylgalactosamine (Galβ1-3GalNAc), expressed on the cell surfaces of most human carcinomas including breast. In this study, we synthesized and evaluated the in vitro and in vivo properties of a (64)Cu-radiolabeled TF antigen-specific peptide derived from bacteriophage display for the purpose of breast tumor targe...
Introduction: Somatostatin receptors expressed on a wide range of human tumors, are potential targets for the peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT). In this study, 177Lu-[DOTA-DPhe1, Tyr3]octreotide (177Lu-DOTATOC) as an agent for PRRT was prepared and its biodistribution was studied in rats. Methods:The ...
The often fatal outcome of ovarian cancer (OC) is related to inadequate detection methods, which may be overcome by development of nuclear imaging agents. Cancer targeting peptides have been identified using in vivo bacteriophage (phage) display technology; however, the majority of these ligands target tumor vasculature. To overcome this problem, a two-tier phage display method was employed to ...
