We demonstrate an integrated nanophotonic network in diamond, consisting of a ring resonator coupled to an optical waveguide with grating in- and outcouplers. Using a nitrogen-vacancy color center embedded inside the ring resonator as a source of photons, single photon generation and routing at room temperature is observed. Furthermore, we observe a large overall photon extraction efficiency (1...

A quadband filter for 1.57 GHz GPS, 5.2 GHz WLAN and 3.5 GHz Worldwide Interoperability Microwave Access is designed and tested in this work. A compact Defected Ground Structure (DGS) quad-band microstrip Band Pass Filter, stub loaded Low Pass Filter, short circuited uniform impedance resonator and ring resonator are used to maintain the size and performance. Use of stub resonator at central po...

We show that the nonlinear phase shift produced by a ring resonator constructed from a given nonlinear optical material can be greater than the phase shift produced by a single pass through an infinite length of the same material when linear and nonlinear absorption are taken into consideration. The figure of merit (defined by the phase shift times the throughput) also improves for the ring res...

We demonstrate a highly integrated micrometer-scale low-power wavelength converter based on the free-carrier dispersion effect in silicon. The conversion is achieved through all-optical modulation of a silicon ring resonator by use of modulated cw control light. The ring resonator has a radius of 5 microm and a Q of approximately 10,000. Both inverted and noninverted modulation are achieved at ...

We experimentally demonstrate a microelectromechanically (MEMS) tunable photonic ring resonator add-drop filter, fabricated in a simple silicon-on-insulator (SOI) based process. The device uses electrostatic parallel plate actuation to perturb the evanescent field of a silicon waveguide, and achieves a 530 pm resonance wavelength tuning, i.e., more than a fourfold improvement compared to previo...

-We present a photorefractively pumped ring resonator for the formation of self-organized, topology-preserving mappings. The self-imaging ring resonator with saturable gain and loss supports localized cavity modes at arbitrary transverse locations. When the resonator is pumped by two uncorrelated signals, two spatially well separated modes form. Each mode is correlated temporally with one of th...

In this design an optical ring resonator are embedded between two Horizontal input and output waveguides which has 4 orbitals around the center of the resonator so that each orbital consists of 8 rods with different size in which radius of larger orbitals rods are bigger than radius of smaller orbitals rods. The analysis of simulation results showed the proposed filter has the transmission effi...

Ring resonators have always been referred to as a highly flexible structurefor designing optical devices. In this study, we have designed and simulation a fourchannel optical demultiplexer using square photonic crystal ring resonator. The squarelattice constant for this purpose structure is used. The purposed structure has an averagecrosstalk, transmission coefficient, q...

We present an on-chip wavelength reference with a partial drop ring resonator and germanium photodetector. This approach can be used in ring-resonator-based wavelength-selective switches where absolute wavelength alignment is required. We use the temperature dependence of heater resistance as a temperature sensor. Additionally, we discuss locking speed, statistical variation of heater resistanc...

We present the first system penalty measurements for all-optical wavelength conversion in an integrated ring resonator. We achieve wavelength conversion over a range of 27.7nm in the C-band at 2.5 Gb/s by exploiting four wave mixing in a CMOS compatible, high index glass ring resonator at ~22 dBm average pump power, obtaining < 0.3 dB system penalty.
