single storms are the most restore water at the water management especially in arid and semi arid. therefore, single storm estimation is the important step in risk management. this study, single storm estimated by gsdm model. so, the date used include: meteorological data, dem and water value in basin jahanbin. in the gsdm model should divide basin to two region smooth and rough, moisture adjus...
Understanding the characteristics of cloud microphysics in precipitation is important to enable accurate rainfall estimation through space-borne radar and microwave radiometers on satellites (e.g., TRMM, GPM, and AMSR-E) (e.g., Masunaga et al. 2002). One basic need is clarification of the differences in cloud microphysical characteristics, such as the drop size distribution (DSD), in convective...
This study examines the spatial and temporal variability in the diurnal cycle of clouds and precipitation tied to topography within the North American Monsoon Experiment (NAME) tier-I domain during the 2004 NAME enhanced observing period (EOP, July–August), with a focus on the implications for highresolution precipitation estimation within the core of the monsoon. Ground-based precipitation ret...
The estimation of convective precipitation and its contribution to total precipitation is an important issue both in hydrometeorology and radio links. The greatest part of this kind of precipitation is related with high intensity values that can produce floods and/or damage and disturb radio propagation. This contribution proposes two approaches for the estimation of convective precipitation, u...
The use of radar in Quantitative Precipitation Estimation (QPE) for radar-rainfall measurement is significantly beneficial. Radar has advantages in terms of high spatial and temporal condition in rainfall measurement and also forecasting. In Malaysia, radar application in QPE is still new and needs to be explored. This paper focuses on the Z/R derivation works of radarrainfall estimation based ...
Substantial evidence shows that the frequency of hydrological extremes has been changing and is likely to continue to change in the near future. Non-stationary models for flood frequency analyses are one method of accounting for these changes in estimating design values. The objective of the present study is to compare four models in terms of goodness of fit, their uncertainties, the parameter ...
The importance of satellite datasets as alternative sources of precipitation information has been argued in numerous studies. Future developments in satellite precipitation algorithms as well as utilization of satellite data in operational applications rely on a more in-depth understanding of satellite errors and biases across different spatial and temporal scales. This paper investigates the c...
A method is described for the estimation of serum protein-bound iodine using alkaline incineration and an automated technique for the estimation of iodine in the ash. Pretreatment of the serum with an anion exchange resin avoids the need for precipitation and washing of the protein. The method is accurate, reproducible, and simple to perform.
Precipitation in mountain regions is often highly variable and poorly observed, limiting abilities to manage water resource challenges. Here, we evaluate remote sensing and ground station-based gridded precipitation products over Nepal against weather station precipitation observations on a monthly timescale. We find that the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) 3B-43 precipitation produc...
