This paper presents cubic spline interpolation based trajectory planning method which is aiming to achieve smooth biped robot walking trajectory. We first characterize the bipedal walking cycle and point out some major issues that need to be addressed to plan a continuous swing leg trajectory by using the concept of cubic polynomial and cubic spline interpolation. By applying these interpolatio...

An efficient method for the smooth estimation of the arrival rate of non-homogeneous, multi-dimensional Poisson processes from inexact arrivals is presented. The method provides a piecewise polynomial spline estimator using sum of squares polynomial optimization. It is easily parallelized exploiting the sparsity of the neighborhood structure of the underlying spline space; as a result, it is ve...

The map H → H↓ assigns to each finite-dimensional space of smooth functions a homogeneous polynomial space of the same dimension. We discuss applications of this map in the areas of multivariate polynomial interpolation, box spline theory and polynomial ideals. §

The non-polynomial spline method is proposed to solve a singular boundary value problems. Some model problems are solved and the numerical results are compared with B-spline approximation and the exact solution. Results obtained by the method indicate the method is simple and effective. Key–Words: Singular point; Singular two-point boundary value problems; Cubic spline

We establish rigorously the fundamental nesting behavior of T-spline spaces in terms of the topology of the T-mesh. This provides a theoretical foundation for local refinement algorithms based on analysis-suitable T-splines and their use in isogeometric analysis. A key result is a dimension formula for smooth polynomial spline spaces defined over the Bézier mesh of a T-spline.

Simplest results presented here are the stability criteria of collocation methods for the second-order Volterra integrodifferential equation (VIDE) by polynomial spline functions. The polynomial spline collocation method is stable if all eigenvalues of a matrix are in the unit disk and all eigenvalues with |λ| = 1 belong to a 1× 1 Jordan block. Also many other conditions are derived depending u...

Wave equation is one of the second order linear hyperbolic equation. Telegraph as a special case wave has interesting point to investigate in numerical view. In this paper, we consider methods for dimensional telegraph by using cubic B-spline collocation method. Collocation method solve partial differential model problem. Cubic spline interpolation an third polynomial. This polynomial interpola...

Given a point configuration A, we uncover connection between polynomial-reproducing spline spaces over subsets of conv(A) and fine zonotopal tilings the zonotope Z(V) associated to corresponding vector configuration. This link directly generalizes known result on Delaunay configurations naturally encompasses, due its combinatorial character, case repeated affinely dependent points in A. We prov...

We present a sixth-order non-polynomial spline method for the solutions of two-point nonlinear boundary value problem u(4)+f(x,u)=0, u(a)=α1, u''(a)= α2, u(b)= β1,u''(b)= β2, in off step points. Numerical method of sixth-order with end conditions of the order 6 is derived. The convergence analysis of the method has been discussed. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the applications ...
