nanofiltration-based separation processes have found diverse applications in industrial and environmentalproblems recently, due to several advantages such as lower energy requirement and elevated flux ratescompared with their reverse osmosis (ro) counterparts. several attempts have been made for modellingnf-based separation processes ranging from rigorous space-charge approaches to simpler irre...

Recent advances in membrane-based separations include chiral separations, nanofiltration, ion-permselectivity, gas separation and pervaporation. Novel chiral separations using enzymes and chiral surfactants as carrier have been achieved using facilitated-transport membranes. Graft-copolymeric membranes have been constructed that possess pH-controlled ion selectivity, and membranes have been mad...

in this study, nf membrane was used for surface water treatment. the rejection of organic material, measured as total organic carbon (toc), by nanofiltration was examined. the effects of application of pre-ozonation and pre-chlorination on toc removal are discussed and their performances are compared with the performances of nanofiltraion system without pretreatment process. in nf, natural orga...

Highly soluble oxalic acid complexes (OACs) were synthesized through a one-pot reaction. The OACs exhibit excellent performance as draw solutes in FO processes with high water fluxes and negligible reverse solute fluxes. Efficient protein enrichment was achieved. The diluted OACs can be recycled via nanofiltration and are promising as draw solutes.
