Background: Resistance of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis is a condition in which Anti-Tuberculosis (OAT) drugs are unable to kill the germs. One type resistance Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis. (MDR-TB) TB caused by bacteria that resistant 2 types OAT, namely INH and Rifampin. The consequences if OAT deterioration health, increased costs, prolonged treatment, high rates therapy failure death.&#x0D...

The emergence of multidrug resistance among gram-negative bacilli is complex. Numerous factors need to be considered, including the biological fitness cost of resistance, fitnesscompensatory mutations and frequency and type of antibiotic exposure. A mathematical model evaluating these complex relationships was developed in an individual colonized with strains of pan-susceptible, single-, twoand...

The contribution of seven known and nine predicted genes or operons associated with multidrug resistance to the susceptibility of Escherichia coli W3110 was assessed for 20 different classes of antimicrobial compounds that include antibiotics, antiseptics, detergents, and dyes. Strains were constructed with deletions for genes in the major facilitator superfamily, the resistance nodulation-cell...

Abstract Multidrug resistance has been detected in the animal and zoonotic human pathogen Rhodococcus equi after mass macrolide/rifampin antibioprophylaxis endemically affected equine farms United States. Multidrug-resistant (MDR) R. emerged upon acquisition of pRErm46, a conjugative plasmid conferring to macrolides, lincosamides, streptogramins, and, as we describe, tetracycline. Phylogenomic ...

We identified 3 lineages among multidrug-resistant (MDR) Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi isolates in the Gulf of Guinea region in Africa during the 2000s. However, the MDR H58 haplotype, which predominates in southern Asia and Kenya, was not identified. MDR quinolone-susceptible isolates contained a 190-kb incHI1 pST2 plasmid or a 50-kb incN pST3 plasmid.

Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in women. Chemotherapy is the main strategy in the treatment of this disease especially in the advanced form of the disease. Despite the recent progress in the development of new chemotherapy, the effectiveness of these drugs has dramatically reduced due to multidrug resistance. The phenotype of multidrug resistance (MDR) can occur through different me...

Disease-oriented panels of human tumor cell lines used by the National Cancer Institute for large-scale in vitro anticancer drug screening were evaluated for multidrug-resistant phenotype at the functional (in vitro drug sensitivity) and molecular levels. The cell line panels manifested a broad range of sensitivities to drugs typically associated with multidrug resistance (MDR) as well as to dr...

Since 2013, wounded and ill children from Syria have received treatment in Israel. Screening cultures indicated that multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens colonized 89 (83%) of 107 children. For 58% of MDR infections, the pathogen was similar to that identified during screening. MDR screening of these children is valuable for purposes of isolation and treatment.

Multidrug resistance (MDR), which is mediated by multiple drug efflux ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters, is a critical issue in the treatment of acute leukemia, with permeability glycoprotein (P-gp), multidrug resistance-associated protein 1, and breast cancer resistance protein (i.e., ABCG2) consistently being shown to be key effectors of MDR in cell line studies. Studies have demonstrat...
