The aim of algebraic logic is to compact series of small steps of general logical inference into larger (in)equational steps. Algebraic structures that have proved very useful in this context are modal semirings and modal Kleene algebras. We show that they can also model knowledge and belief logics as well as games without additional effort; many of the standard logical properties are theorems ...

Understanding the dynamic behavior of civil engineering structures is important to adequately resolve problems related to structural vibration. The dynamic properties of a structure are commonly obtained by conducting a modal survey that can be used for model updating, design verification, and improvement of serviceability. However, particularly for largescale civil structures, modal surveys us...

The useful and efficient method of Finite Element (FEM) has a drawback for dynamic analysis of complex structures, especially in the medium and high frequency range. To overcome this fundamental difficulty, application of Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) and power flow technique has been suggested. As the SEA is based on the average response of structure and statistical properties of its reson...

We introduce BPDL, a combination of propositional dynamic logic PDL with the basic four-valued modal logic BK studied by Odintsov and Wansing (‘Modal logics with Belnapian truth values’, J. Appl. Non-Class. Log. 20, 279–301 (2010)). We modify the standard arguments based on canonical models and filtration to suit the four-valued context and prove weak completeness and decidability of BPDL.

the occurrence of chatter vibrations in boring operation has a great influence in improving workpiece dimensional accuracy, surface quality and production efficiency. in this paper instability analysis of machining process is presented by dynamic model of boring machine. this model, which consists of machine tool’s structure, is provided by finite element method and ansys software. the model is...

Experimental methods used to determine the dynamic behaviour of helicopter structures can be broadly categorised as either ground testing methods or in-flight testing methods. A major limitation of ground testing is that dynamic properties determined from a grounded helicopter structure are usually significantly influenced by the boundary conditions. Therefore, it is desirable to carry out test...

In this paper, we argue that object-oriented models must be able to represent three kinds of taxonomic structures: static subclasses, dynamic subclasses and role classes. If CAR is a static subclass of V EHICLE, then a vehicle that is not a car can never migrate to the CAR subclass. If EMPloyee is a dynamic subclass of PERSON, then a PERSON that is not an employee may migrate to EMP. In both ca...

the nonlinear static procedures (nsps) proposed by design codes do not lead to reliable results especially for tall buildings. they generally provide inconsistent estimates of inelastic seismic demands, especially for the top floors due to their inabilities in considering the higher modes effects. in this paper, a new enhanced pushover procedure is proposed which is based on the envelope of the...

The generation of a finite element based structural model of a small, flexible unmanned aircraft is presented. The paper focuses on obtaining a simple model suitable for control design based on a two step procedure. In an initial step, static and dynamic tests of the wings are conducted. These experiments give first estimates of the material properties (e.g., stiffness) of the aircraft. A finit...

According to the great importance of safety in aerospace industries, identification of dynamic parameters of related equipment by experimental tests in operating conditions has been in focus. Due to the existence of noise sources in these conditions the probability of fault occurrence may increases. This study investigates the effects of noise in the process of modal parameters identification b...
