We report that broadcast messages in Mobile WiMAX networks should be synchronized throughout all the base stations to gain the benefit of beamforming technique. A simple synchronization implementation of broadcast messages in Mobile WiMAX networks is presented. Using this technique, the interference between broadcast messages and beamformed messages can be reduced.

Based on the IEEE 802.16e standard, WiMAX proposes a Mobile Multihop Relay (MMR) approach defined in the IEEE 802.16j standard to extend the service area of Base Stations (BSs), and then improves the quality of received signal strength. Clearly, WiMAX MMR achieves a low-cost coverage-extension solution for the existing WiMAX network. WiMAX MMR supports three types of Relay Stations (RS): Fixed ...

Mobile TV, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and Internet access services are important for mobile users and network service providers. Mobile WiMAX devices can support all three services also known as triple play. In this paper we analyze user capacity of Mobile WiMAX systems for each of these three services. We consider various link characteristics, interference scenarios, modulations, QoS...

The usage of mobile Internet service has been on the rise as more people become to use mobile devices. WiMAX, a mobile Internet service, was first commercialized in Korea in 2006. However, after first six months, a number of users discontinued the service and switched to other Internet services. Because customer retention is important for the success of any business, this research examines the ...

Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) specified by IEEE 802.16 supports Wireless Metropolitan Area Network (WMAN). In the environment of WMAN the mobile client has high mobility as it moves from the coverage area of Serving Base Station (SBS) to Target Base Station (TBS). Handoff is one of the Quality of Service (QoS) parameter in the WiMAX network which supports mobility and ...

Mobile WiMAX is a wireless networking system which provides wireless broadband to fixed and mobile terminals. In this paper, firstly performance evaluation of WiMAX system with channel estimation is discussed. Performance evaluation with channel estimation is used because amplitude and phase shift causes error in wireless channel. Finally, Performance evaluation of WiMAX system using adaptive e...
