The central nervous system produces growth factors that stimulate proliferation of ameboid microglia during embryogenesis and after traumatic injury. Two microglial mitogens (MMs) are recovered from the brain of newborn rat. MM1 has an approximate molecular mass of 50 kD and a pI of approximately 6.8; MM2 has a molecular mass of 22 kD and a pI of approximately 5.2. These trypsin-sensitive prote...

Monoclonal antibodies were produced against MM46, an MM antigen-positive, ascitic mouse mammary tumor of C3H/He mice, and 14 clones were found to produce antibodies reactive with MM46, but not with an MM antigen-negative MM48 tumor. Among these 14 antibodies, 10 reacted also with lymph node cells of C3H.B6-Ly-6b, Ly-6.2 congenic mice. The antigen defined by the 10 antibodies was provisionally d...

We present sensitive and high angular resolution (∼ 1′′) 1.3 mm continuum observations of the dusty core D-MM1 in the Spokes cluster in NGC 2264 using the Submillimeter Array. A dense micro-cluster of seven Class 0 sources was detected in a 20′′× 20′′ region with masses between 0.4 to 1.2 M and deconvolved sizes of about 600 AU. We interpret the 1.3 mm emission as arising from the envelopes of ...

BACKGROUND The receptor tyrosine kinase like orphan receptor (ROR)-1 gene is overexpressed in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Because Stat3 is constitutively activated in CLL and sequence analysis revealed that the ROR1 promoter harbors gamma-interferon activation sequence-like elements typically activated by Stat3, we hypothesized that Stat3 activates ROR1. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS...

This paper provides steady state queue-size distribution for a G/G/1 queue by using principle of maximum entropy. For this purpose we have used average queue length and normalizing condition as constraints to derive queue-size distribution. Our results give good approximation as demonstrated by taking a numerical illustration. In particular case when square coefficient of variation of inter-arr...

ABSTRACT We present new 3-mm continuum and molecular lines observations from the ATOMS survey towards massive protostellar clump, MM1, located in filamentary infrared dark cloud (IRDC), G034.43+00.24 (G34). The observed are tracers of either dense gas (e.g. HCO+/H13CO+ J= 1–0) or outflows CS 2–1). most complete picture to date seven cores MM1 is revealed by dust emission. These found be gravita...

in this paper, we study the network location problem for two congestible facilities, considering impatient customers. we suppose that when a customer arrives his/her corresponding facility and faces a queue with the size more than a predetermined threshold, the customer decides not to join the queue but to go to the closest facility to current facility. in the second facility, if the queue size...

The present study identifies deregulated cytokines and mediators of the immune response in the frontal cortex and cerebellum of sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (sCJD) MM1 and VV2 subtypes compared to age-matched controls. Deregulated genes include pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines, toll-like receptors, colony stimulating factors, cathepsins, members of the complement system, and members o...

Polymorphisms in certain inflammatory-related genes have been identified as putative differential risk factors of neurodegenerative diseases with abnormal protein aggregates, such as sporadic Alzheimer's disease (AD) and sporadic Parkinson's disease (sPD). Gene expression studies of cytokines and mediators of the immune response have been made in post-mortem human brain samples in AD, sPD, spor...

a single server queue with bernoulli vacation has been considered. in addition the admission to queue is based on a bernoulli process and the server gives two type of services. for this model the probability generating function for the number of customers in the queue at different server's state are obtained using supplementary variable technique. some performance measures are calculated. ...
