Syncope is the state of lack of consciousness and temporal loss of postural tone. Syncope might be in association with a variety of benign and life-threatening conditions. Pulmonary embolism (PE) has been shown to be associated with syncope in 13-30 percent of cases. This article presents a novel case report of PE whom syncope was his only manifestation.
Objective: This review focuses on syncope in diabetic patients who suffer from hypoglycemia. Clinically, transient loss of consciousness during hypoglycemia appears similar to vasovagal syncope. Research Design and Methods: Current understanding of this problem is based on physicians’ personal experiences as well as on published case reports. It is difficult to explain a temporary loss of consc...
objective: to determine the prediction value of disorder of consciousness scale (docs) for consciousness recovery after traumatic brain injury (tbi) leading to coma. methods: this is a descriptive-cross-sectional study of the correlation between the level of patients’ consciousness in the first and second weeks and the first 2 months after traumatic brain injury, using docs scale. results: the ...
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE The constant equilibrium between the plasma and effect site (ke0) is used by pharmacokinetic models to calculate a drug concentration in its site of action (Ce). It would be interesting if Ce of propofol was similar at loss and recovery of consciousness. The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical performance of two different ke0 (fast = 1.21 min(-1), and s...
a novel ultra wideband microstrip bandpass filter using radial stub loaded resonator and interdigital coupled lines is presented in this paper. the radial stub loaded resonator and decagonal patch form a resonator named m to create tuneable multiple notches in the passband for suppression wlan interference. to realize sharp roll-off, two adjustable transmission nulls are located at the lower an...
UNLABELLED For accurate diagnosis and prognostic prediction of acquired brain injury (ABI), it is crucial to understand the neurobiological mechanisms underlying loss of consciousness. However, there is no consensus on which regions and networks act as biomarkers for consciousness level and recovery outcome in ABI. Using resting-state fMRI, we assessed intrinsic functional connectivity strength...
