CO2 flooding, a promising technique of enhanced oil recovery, is widely used for its capability boosting and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In this study, the displacement performance supercritical tested in laboratory under immiscible flooding. The results show that: Supercritical improves by virtue low viscosity, high diffusivity, easy dissolution. With same pore volume (PV), flooding sig...
Low-salinity water-alternating-CO2 (CO2-LSWAG) injection has been widely studied and employed due to its capability promote enhanced oil recovery (EOR). However, there is no consensus on the dominant mechanisms for in carbonates extreme complexity of oil–brine–rock interactions. This work proposes a comparative investigation physicochemical geochemical effects continuous CO2 CO2-LSWAG immiscibl...
Abstract Several benefits of CO 2 injection are reported in the literature such as its ability to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and increase oil recovery at a low cost. However, correlated reservoir-engineering problems with low-temperature including formation damage leakage risk still uncertain has not been comprehensively investigated. This research examines effect on lowering breakdown p...
We show that a phenomenological hydrodynamic lattice-gas model of two-phase flow, developed by Rothman and Keller in 1988 and used extensively for numerical simulations since then, can be derived from an underlying model of particle interactions. From this result, we elucidate the nature of the hydrodynamic limit of the Rothman-Keller model.
gas injection into heavy oil reservoirs could result in high ultimate recovery of oil. experimental studies showed that an application of a combined technology of gas assisted gravity drainage (gagd) and vapor extraction (vapex) could increase final oil recovery of a candidate viscous oil reservoir. in this paper the results of laboratory investigation are presented, including pressure-volume-t...
Many world class large carbonate reservoirs leave behind at least half of the initial oil in place. Typically water injection is used to improve oil recovery while gas injection is used to maintain pressure or to promote oil gravity drainage. Immiscible gas injection, including injection of CO2, has been considered but not implemented on a large scale for economic reasons. Furthermore, interest...
The modeling of coupled fluid transport and deformation in a porous medium is essential to predict the various geomechanical process such as CO2 sequestration, hydraulic fracturing, so on. Current applications interest, for instance, that include fracturing or damage solid phase, require nonlinear description large deformations can occur. This paper presents variational energy-based continuum m...

in this research the experimental and theoretical studies on different enhanced oil recovery (eor) techniques, i.e. water flooding (wf), gas injection (gi) and water alternating gas process (wag) were performed on specimens taken from an iranian carbonate offshore reservoir at the reservoir condition. the experimental results for each specified techniques were compared with the corresponding re...
