CONTEXT Gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma is clearly associated with Helicobacter pylori gastritis and can be cured with anti- H pylori therapy alone. The presence of t(11;18)(q21;q21) translocation is thought to predict a lower response rate to anti- H pylori treatment. OBJECTIVES To study the presence of t(11;18)(q21;q21) genetic translocation and its clinical impact...

microRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that can function as endogenous silencers of target genes and play critical roles in human malignancies. To investigate the molecular pathogenesis of gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma, the miRNA expression profile was analyzed. miRNA microarray analysis with tissue specimens from gastric MALT lymphomas and surrounding non-tumo...

Approximately 360,000 new cases of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma were diagnosed worldwide in 2014. Of these, approximately 7% were diagnosed with mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma. Gastric extranodal marginal zone B-cell MALT lymphoma accounts for 1%–7% of malignant gastric tumors and 60%–75% of gastrointestinal MALT lymphomas. Gastric MALT lymphoma shows various endoscopic findings. T...

The primary pulmonary diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PPDLBCL), a kind of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, itself is a rare entity. Its association with primary B-cell gastric lymphoma has not been established yet. Herein we present a case of PPDLBCL along with a literature review. This case is special and extremely rare as it has concurrent primary gastric B-cell lymphoma.

BACKGROUND While a close association between gastric mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma and Helicobacter pylori infection has been established, there are still cases which do not respond to H pylori eradication. AIMS To investigate the clinicopathological factors which may help predict the therapeutic efficacy of H pylori eradication in gastric MALT lymphoma. PATIENTS Forty o...

BACKGROUND Lymphoma of the mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) arising in the stomach has been shown to be related to Helicobacter pylori infection, and total regression of gastric lymphoma after successful eradication of H pylori has consistently been reported. MALT-type lymphoma at other localisations, however, has to our knowledge not been linked to H pylori, and eradication of the bact...

The Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma, which was first described in 1983, is known to be caused by chronic Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection, which triggers lymphoid infiltration and formation of organized lymphoid tissue. In approximately two thirds of cases of MALT, the lymphoma has been observed to regress after treatment of H. pylori infection; this provides strong evidence...

We are reporting a case of a 62-year-old African American woman with a history of gastric MALT lymphoma successfully treated with radiation who presented with a laryngeal MALT lymphoma 4 years after her original diagnosis. She received definitive radiation with a complete response. The case presented is unique for the rare presentation of a MALT lymphoma in the larynx, especially in light of th...

BACKGROUND Development of gastric mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma is thought to be closely associated with host immune reactions to Helicobacter pylori. AIM To investigate humoral immune responses in patients with MALT lymphoma to antigens shared by H pylori and human gastric epithelial cells. METHODS Sera were obtained from H pylori positive patients with MALT lymphoma (n...

The occurrence of malignant gastric lymphoma and adenocarcinoma in the same patient is very rare. Here we report a case of synchronous gastric carcinoma and gastric lymphoma with a follicular growth pattern associated in a 73-year-old man. Preliminary diagnosis gastric tumour was suggested so laparotomy was performed for the purpose of treatment resection of the stomach. In the operation fi eld...
