Abstract Alternative to the traditional analog methods, several digital data preprocessing, shaping and postprocessing techniques have been investigated for improvement in energy resolution of dispersive x-rays detectors. Initial experimental results show that by preprocessing data, better can be obtained at shorter times; thus, it will allow good time high count rates.
