We analyze standard theoretical models of solar energy conversion developed to study solar cells and photosynthetic systems. We show that assuming the energy transfer to the reaction center/electric circuit is through a decay rate or “sink”, contradicts the second law of thermodynamics. We put forward a thermodynamically consistent alternative by explicitly considering parts of the reaction cen...
Abstract: In our previous work (Journal of Nonlinear Science and Applications 9: 1202–1215, 2016), we studied the well-posedness and general decay rate for a transmission problem in a bounded domain with a viscoelastic term and a delay term. In this paper, we continue to study the similar problem but without the frictional damping term. The main difficulty arises since we have no frictional dam...
A semi-classical formalism is used to calculate the radiation reaction of a relativistic particle in a straight, continuous focusing system. Due to the absence of quantum excitation in such a fo-cusing system, the radiation damping rate of the transverse action obtained using this formalism agrees exactly with the result from the classical Lorentz-Dirac radiation reaction equation. In the limit...

We consider closed-string tachyon condensation in the twisted sectors onC/Z2n+1× R 7,1 orbifold. We calculate the localized energy density at the fixed plane on the orbifold at the one-loop level, and we obtain the decay rate per unit volume of the fixed plane at the leading order. We show that the decay rate increases monotonically as n grows. ∗[email protected]
in this research, a semi empirical approach has been suggested for calculating the activation energyof unimolecular thermal decomposition of vinyl ethers yielding saturated products. the calculationprocedure is based on the use of molecular mechanics (mm) methods. these methods which involvethe construction of the transition state for a molecule mainly consider the formation of a “hydrogenbridg...
[1] We examine numerically the influence of Hall effect corrections to Ohm’s law upon the decay of homogeneous compressible magnetohydrodynamic turbulence and conclude that there are no significant differences in global decay rate associated with the Hall effect. This affirms expectations that energy decay is controlled by the large-scale eddies.
