We report the synthesis and optical properties of organic porphyrin nanoparticles with narrow size distribution and good dispersibility. Nanoparticles were produced by a combination of precipitation and sonication, termed the "ultrasonic method". The resulting [tetrakis(para-chlorophenyl)porphyrin]TClPP nanoparticles were stable in solution without precipitation for at least 30 days. No self ag...
We report a facile one-step route to graft poly(ionic liquid)s (PILs) onto cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs). The dispersibility of the PIL-functionalized CNFs in water and various organic solvents could be tuned by the choice of the PIL-binding anion. We demonstrate that such omnidispersible PIL@CNF hybrids can be used to reinforce porous poly(ionic liquid) membranes.
Carotenoids are substantially hydrophobic antioxidants. Hydrophobicity is this context is rather a disadvantage, because their utilization in medicine as antioxidants or in food chemistry as colorants would require some water dispersibility for their effective uptake or use in many other ways. In the past 15 years several attempts were made to synthetize partially hydrophilic carotenoids. This ...
Abstract Wet wipe dispersibility is broadly discussed since they have been detected in massive fatbergs that were found sewer systems of big cities, e.g., London. Dispersibility describes a wet wipe’s ability to disintegrate into its fibres after being flushed the toilet. Recently it has this pilot-scale produced wipes can reduce when stored condition. This phenomenon called ageing. With work w...
cellulose nanofibers (cnf) which isolated from wood and non woody plants have attractive advantages comparing with the synthetic fibers, some of the most relevant being the following: low density, renewable sources, biodegradability, availability, and high specific mechanical properties. recently, the use of cnf in green materials, especially as reinforcement in different polymers has been incr...
This technical tip describes the use of a novel binder system based upon sulfopolyester chemistry which eliminates the deficiencies of current binder systems for joinery applications providing enhanced characteristics. Eastek polymer dispersions Eastek polymer dispersions are aqueous dispersions of sulfopolyester polymers based upon monomer building blocks, acids, and 5-(sodiosulpho) isophthali...
In order to understand the adsorption preferences of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) components derived from fungus Saccharomyces cerevisiae on sparingly soluble CeO2 nanoparticles (CeNPs), the adsorption experiments of the EPS including organic matter with low molecular weight have been performed at pH 6.0 at room temperature (25 ± 1 ◦C). The subsequent effects of the coating on the d...
