In this paper, the long-range Van Der Walls dispersion force correction (vdW-DF) for a combined system consisting of an Ag-chain adsorbed on a monolayer of graphene is studied. Calculations are based on density functional theory (DFT) performed by using various LDA, PBE and BLYP approximations. Since Ag chain is weakly adsorbed on graphene sheet, the Van Der Waals contribution to the total adso...

We consider perturbations of Dirac type operators on complete, connected metric spaces equipped with a doubling measure. Under a suitable set of assumptions, we prove quadratic estimates for such operators and hence deduce that these operators have a bounded functional calculus. In particular, we deduce a Kato square root type estimate.

Here we estimate the magnitude of the signals expected for realistic cosmic neutrino backgrounds in detectors attempting to measure the mechanical forces exerted on macroscopic targets by the elastic scattering of relic neutrinos. We study effects proportional to the weak coupling constant GF and to G 2 F for Dirac and Majorana neutrinos, either relativistic or non-relativistic, both gravitatio...

The goal of the DIRAC experiment at CERN (PS212) is to measure the ππ atom lifetime with 10% precision. Such a measurement would yield a precision of 5% on the value of the S-wave ππ scattering lengths combination |a0 − a2|. Based on part of the collected data we present a first result on the lifetime, τ = [

Transport due to spin-helical massless Dirac fermion surface state is of paramount importance to realize various new physical phenomena in topological insulators, ranging from quantum anomalous Hall effect to Majorana fermions. However, one of the most important hallmarks of topological surface states, the Dirac linear band dispersion, has been difficult to reveal directly in transport measurem...

We give the construction of a line bundle over the based Brownian bridge, as well as the construction of spinor fields over the based and the free Brownian bridge. Introduction The Dirac operator over the free loop space is a very important object for the algebraic topology [24]; its index gives the Witten genus and it can predict the rigidity theorem of Witten: the index of some classical oper...

We discuss the weak coupling expansion of massless QCD with the Dirac operator which is derived by Neuberger based on the overlap formalism and satisfies the Ginsparg-Wilson relation. The axial U(1) anomaly associated to the chiral transformation proposed by Lüscher is calculated as an application and is shown to have the correct form of the topological charge density for perturbative backgroun...

We construct spectral triples for the Sierpinski gasket as infinite sums of unbounded Fredholm modules associated with the holes in the gasket and investigate their properties. For each element in the K-homology group we find a representative induced by one of our spectral triples. Not all of these triples, however, will have the right geometric properties. If we want the metric induced by the ...

In this paper the Klein-Gordon and the Dirac Oscillators in a non-commutative space and in a constant magnetic field are investigated. It is shown that for a specific value of the magnetic field, one may map these oscillators from a non-commutative space to a commutative space.
