Anodic Aluminium Oxide (AAO) membranes were fabricated using a modified 2 step anodization process. The effect of varying anodization voltage, time and temperature of electrolyte on the morphology of the pores was studied. AFM measurements showed that the anodized samples contain ordered pores of 32 nm in diameter and were 40nm apart.
CoFe/Cu multilayer nanowires were electrodeposited into anodic aluminum oxide templates prepared by a two-step mild anodization method, using the single-bath technique. Nanowires with 30 nm diameter and the definite lengths were obtained. The effect of CoFe layers thickness and annealing on the magnetic behavior of the multilayer nanowires was investigated. The layers thickness was controlled t...
We describe the preparation of a tungsten pillar nanoimprint stamp without the use of lithography and etching techniques. Structures with heights of 15 nm were prepared on the basis of self-ordered porous alumina templates and this was followed by DC sputtering of tungsten. The stamp was successfully used to prepare an aluminium surface to obtain highly ordered porous anodic alumina films after...
A novel interfacial structure consisting of long (up to 5 μm), thin (about 300 nm), highly-ordered, free-standing, highly-reproducible aluminum oxide nanobottles and long tubular nanocapsules attached to a rigid, thin (less than 1 μm) nanoporous anodic alumina membrane is fabricated by simple, fast, catalyst-free, environmentally friendly voltage-pulse anodization. A growth mechanism is propose...
Anodic fast-growth of highly ordered hexagonal arrays of TiO2 nanotubes by a single anodization step
Highly-ordered TiO2 nanotubes (NTs) have gained much importance for application in hydrogen production by water splitting (photoelectrochemical cells) and the dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) [1,2]. The TiO2 NTs can be synthesized using a titanium foil in fluoride containing electrolytes via electrochemical anodization method. The NTs geometry depends on different anodizing parameters (electro...
Nanoporous alumina which was produced by a conventional direct current anodization [DCA] process at low temperatures has received much attention in various applications such as nanomaterial synthesis, sensors, and photonics. In this article, we employed a newly developed hybrid pulse anodization [HPA] method to fabricate the nanoporous alumina on a flat and curved surface of an aluminum [Al] fo...
Novel pre-oxidation pattering on thin aluminum film generating ordered nanopores through anodization
Anodic Aluminum Oxide (AAO) is widely employed as a template for fabrication of nanowires and nanotubes due to its ability to generate self organized (SO), well ordered pore structures. We have developed a new aluminum pre-patterning technique to create well ordered nanopore arrays on thin films deposited on silicon substrates. We form patterns of thicker oxide on the surface via local oxidatio...
to improve the photo-catalytic degradation of salicylic acid, we reported the fabrication of ordered tio2 nanotube arrays by a simple and effective two-step anodization method and then these tio2 nanotubes treated in a methanol solution under uv light irradiation. the tio2 nanotubes prepared in the two-step anodization process showed better photo-catalytic activity than tio2 nanotubes prepared ...
During recent years, the anodization of aluminum, due to its great commercial significance, represents one of the most important and widespread method used for the synthesis of ordered nanostructures. Whose geometry is controlled by diverse synthesis factors which include the voltage applied, the temperature of the electrochemical environment in which the synthesis is carried out, the reagent u...
