This contribution presents a knowledge-based model of the agents’ mutual awareness (social knowledge) and justifies its role in various classes of applications of the concept of multi-agent systems. A tri-base acquaintance model (3bA) has been formalized and designed in order to limit explosive communication space in multi-agent systems. As a formal model of agent’s social behaviour knowledge a...

The crisscross error model in data arrays is considered, where the corrupted symbols are confined to a prescribed number of rows or columns (or both). Under the additional assumption that the corrupted entries are uniformly distributed over the channel alphabet, and by allowing a small decoding error probability, a coding scheme is presented where the redundancy can get close to one half the re...

T HIS PAPER is concerned with the decoding problem for error-correcting cyclic codes with relatively high redundancy r/n. The general decoding algorithms for the Bose-Chaudhuri codes given by Peterson’ are well known. Also, other interesting decoding methods have been given by Meggitt,’ Prange3 and Zierler.4 The decoding scheme described here is rather simple in principle’ and is appropriate fo...

Due to today’s advancement in technology and businesses, fraud detection has become a critical component of financial transactions. Considering vast amounts of data in large datasets, it becomes more difficult to detect fraud transactions manually. In this research, we propose a combined method using both data mining and statistical tasks, utilizing feature selection, resampling and cost-...

Platelet components (PCs) have widespread applications in clinical cases. Since PCs store in room temperature (between 20-24°C), they are susceptible to bacterial contamination. There are varied approaches for identifying bacterial contamination in PCs. These methods categorized into two groups: Firstly, culture based methods and secondly, non-culture based methods. Both of them have a coup...

Human face detection plays a major role in face recognition systems and has gained much attention in recent years. Various methods were proposed to detect faces in different orientations. The aim of this paper is to introduce a comparative study of four detection methods regarding the detection rate. These methods are : SMQT Features and SNOW Classifier (SFSC) method, Efficient and Rank Deficie...

Given the causal relation between a persistent high-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) infection and the development of high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and cervical cancer, hrHPV testing has been advocated in addition to cytology for the detection of clinically relevant cervical lesions. HrHPV testing is thought to improve cervical screening algorithms, the management of wome...

The problem my Individual Bachelor project addresses is the risk of getting injured by a running boat propeller. In order to solve this safety problem I am investigating possibilities to detect humans which are close to the propeller and make a system perform a certain action to prevent injury. The reason for this literature review is to assess if there are any human body detection methods avai...

Using clinical samples from patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome, we showed that the sensitivities of a quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (80% for fecal samples and 25% for urine samples) were higher than those of the polyclonal (50% and 5%) and monoclonal (35% and 8%) antibody-based nucleocapsid antigen capture enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays.
