One important factor in supply chain management is to efficiently control the supply chain flows. Due to its importance, many companies are trying to develop efficient methods to increase customer satisfaction and reduce costs. Cross-docking is considered a good method to reduce inventory and improve responsiveness. The Vehicle Routing Problem with Cross-Docking and Time Windows (VRP-CD-TW) con...

A new model and solution for the energy minimizing vehicle routing problem with time windows (EVRPTW) and customers’ priority is presented in this paper. In this paper unlike prior attempts to minimize cost by minimizing overall traveling distance, the model also incorporates energy minimizing which meets the latest requirements of green logistics. This paper includes the vehicles load as an ad...

We present a modification of the vehicle routing problem with the additional restriction that time windows are associated with each customer by defining an interval wherein the customer has to be supplied. We introduce a two phase strategy of this vehicle routing and scheduling problem with time windows using fuzzy logic to realize inference steps in fuzzy if-then rule bases.

In this paper, an approximate solution of sensitivity matrix of required velocity with final velocity constraint is derived using a piecewise linear gravity assumption. The total flight time is also fixed for the problem. Simulation results show the accuracy of the method. Increasing the midway points for linearization, increases the accuracy of the solution, which this, in turn, depends on the...

Firms in multiple industries collect customer satisfaction data to measure service performance. Increasingly, however, many firms are now able to collect objective service performance data as well. This raises the question of whether measuring customer satisfaction is valuable to firms when objective service performance data are available. The authors answer this question via the use of unique ...

This paper studies the vehicle routing and scheduling problem with time windows in the pickup and delivery service for customers via vehicles. After discussing the collaborative pattern of vehicles and defining the isolated customer point, we derive the model and strategy of single-pass multiple vehicle collaborations. And then we propose a heuristic algorithm based on single-pass multiple vehi...

A given explicit piecewise affine representation of an MPC feedback law is approximated by a single polynomial, computed using linear programming. This polynomial state feedback control law guarantees closed-loop stability and constraint satisfaction. The polynomial feedback can be implemented in real time even on very simple devices with severe limitations on memory storage.

Ubiquitous firm-customer digital connectedness for effective sensing and responding are a strategic imperative for firms in volatile environments. This paper conceptualizes and operationalizes the firmcustomer digital connectedness in the context of ubiquitous Smartmobile customer focussed shopping app in consumer retail and empirically investigated its implications on customer expectations, ex...

Evaluation of customer satisfaction differs from one study to another. Studies have been differing with their focus and coverage. Most of studies focused on evaluating factors influencing customer satisfaction or associate customer satisfaction and quality of services. This paper used logistic regression to develop customer satisfaction model for Precision Air. Five dimensions or variables have...
