Abstract The galloping of iced conductors is a common disaster overhead conductors. Most traditional anti-galloping devices lack nonlinear dynamic vibration absorber; hence, they have limited effect. In this study, we designed, optimized, and tested an electric power fitting device with cubic stiffness particle damping for ultra-high-voltage (UHV) transmission lines. We built model the coupling...
A local differential transform approach for the cubic nonlinear Duffing oscillator with damping term
Malaysians were reported to have the most number of Facebook friends, spend more time on Facebook and might be addicted to Facebook as well. This paper explored Facebook usage pattern, motivations and psycho logical/behavioural factors affecting the users. A focus group study was first conducted to explo re motives to use Facebook and symptoms related to excessive Facebook usage. The themes eme...
We study the nonlinear response of a ferrimagnetic sphere resonator (FSR) strongly coupled to microwave loop-gap (LGR). The measured in regime weak nonlinearity allows extraction FSR Kerr coefficient and its cubic damping rate. find that there is certain range driving parameters which system exhibits instability. In range, self-sustained modulation reflected power off generated. instability att...
In this paper we consider a plate equation with internal feedback and viscoelastic damping localized on a part of the boundary. Without imposing restrictive assumptions on the time-dependent frictional damping, we establish an explicit and general decay rate result that allows a wider class of relaxation functions and generalizes previous results existing in the literature.
Abstract The soft modes associated with continuous-order phase transitions are strong anharmonicity. This leads to the overdamped limit where phonon quasi-particle picture can break down. However, this is commonly restricted a narrow temperature range, making it difficult observe its signature feature, namely breakdown of inverse relationship between relaxation time and damping. Here we present...
The aim of this short note is twofold. First, we give a sketch of the proof of a recent result proved by the authors in the paper [7] concerning existence and uniqueness of renormalized solutions of continuity equations with unbounded damping coe cient. Second, we show how the ideas in [7] can be used to provide an alternative proof of the result in [6, 9, 12], where the usual requirement of bo...
