For certain models, the energy of the universe which includes the energy of both the matter and the gravitational fields is obtained by using the quasilocal energy-momentum in teleparallel gravity. It is shown that in the case of the Bianchi type I and II universes, not only the total energy but also the quasilocal energy-momentum for any region vanishes independently of the three dimen-sionles...

We derive a set of equations describing the real time dynamics of modes with spatial momentum of order g 2 T in a high temperature gauge theory, where g is the coupling constant and T is the temperature. This dynamics is stochastic in nature. Important implications for baryon number violation at high temperature and for the physics at the electroweak phase transition, are discussed.

The ”measurability” of the non-minimal coupling is discussed in the context of the effective field theory of gravity. Although there is no obvious motive for excluding a non-minimal scalar coupling from the theory, we conclude that for reasonable values of the coupling constant it makes only a very small correction. GUT scale threshold corrections in minimal SU(5) supergravity grand unification are discussed. It is shown that predictions may be made despite uncertainties associated with the high energy scale. A bound relating the strong coupling constant to the mass scales associated with proton decay and supersymmetry is derived, and a sensitive probe of the underlying theory is outlined. In particular, l...

From the field strengths defined in noncommutative geometry, we construct a bosonic lagrangian of the standard model by using a natural way. It is shown that constraints among coupling constants of our model can be renormalization group invariant (RGI). We also consider the relation between the condition that a constraint among coupling constants of a model becomes RGI and a condition that the ...

It is postulated that the action of the FRW-universe is the cos-mological term of Einstein's theory (no curvature term-" R 0 Cos-mology "). The expansion equation emerging from the embedding of this most simple brane world with variable speed of light is deduced. The universal dimensionless coupling constant of gravity is addressed. Some implications on the deep problems of cosmology are discus...

This paper is devoted to the evaluation of the energy-momentum density components for the Friedmann models. For this purpose, we have used Møller’s pseudotensor prescription in General Relativity and a certain energy-momentum density developed from his teleparallel formulation. It is shown that the energy density of the closed Friedmann universe vanishes on the spherical shell at the radius ρ =...

The hygrophorones, a class of cyclopentenones isolated from fruiting bodies of the genus Hygrophorus (basidiomycetes), show promising antifungal activity. While the constitution of 4,6diacetylhygrophorone A (3) and the relative configuration of the stereogenic centers in the cyclopentenone ring were elucidated using standard NMR and MS techniques, the relative configuration of the exocyclic ste...
