Orienting otolith-ocular reflexes were assessed in rabbits using static tilt, off-vertical axis rotation (OVAR) and sinusoidal oscillation about earth-horizontal axes. In all paradigms, head pitch produced ocular counter-pitch and vergence, and head roll produced ocular counter-roll and conjugate yaw version. Thus, vergence and version are essential components of orienting reflexes along the na...

abstract: in this work, an optimal control scheme with adaptive weighting coefficients is presented which coordinates different vehicle dynamics control objectives, thus ruling out possible conflicts among them. in a new approach, the weighting coefficients in optimal control are adjusted according to the vehicle state in the phase plane in such a way that a priority is given to each objective ...

In this paper, we address the tracking problem for an underactuated ship using two controls, namely surge force and yaw moment. A simple state-feedback control law is developed and proved to render the tracking error dynamics globally -exponentially stable. Experimental results are presented where the controller is implemented on a scale model of an offshore supply vessel.

a nonlinear model consisting “yaw, roll, longitudinal, lateral and pitch” has been developed in which, tire and suspension characteristics have been considered. tire model is based on the elliptic concept and tire calspan data. according to this tire model, cornering force and aligning moment are computed as a function of slip and camber (inclination) angles, normal load, tire adhesion characte...

The accumulation of ice on an airplane in flight is one of the leading contributing factors to general aviation accidents, and to date only relatively sophisticated methods based on detailed empirical data and flight data exist for its analysis. This paper develops a methodology and simulation tool for a preliminary yet accurate evaluation of airplane dynamical response and stability and contro...

This paper presents an active steering system designed to ensure both the curving performance and running stability of a vehicle. Electro-hydraulic actuators installed in place anti-yaw dampers generate yaw moment between carbody bogie. The detects curves with gyroscopes mounted on configuration enables reduction wheel/rail lateral force without requiring complicated mechanical links bogies. al...
