In this work a security module is developed, providing FPGA based hardware acceleration for Elliptic Curve Cryptography which meets the requirements of Car-to-X Communication. The module is pluggable via USB to a Car-to-X system and therefore easily deployable within currently running or planed Field Operational Tests.
I. Abstract Nowadays people are strongly dependent on cars for doing their tasks, but they usually are not aware of hazards which are awaiting them. For instance, since people travel with cars, their human bodies undergo in fatigue, restlessness, and sometimes health problems. Human body reaction under external vibration depends on the amplitude, frequency, and acceleration of the applied exter...
We propose and study a one-dimensional traffic flow cellular automaton model of high-speed vehicles with the Fukui-Ishibashi-type acceleration for all cars, and the Nagel-Schreckenberg-type (NS) stochastic delay only for cars following the trail of the car ahead. The main difference in the delay scenario between our model and the NS model is that a car with spacing ahead longer than the velocit...
Abstract The aim of this study is to study the kinematics of adult pedestrians and assess head injury risks based on real‐world accidents. A total of 43 passenger car versus pedestrian accidents were selected from accident databases for simulation study. According to real‐world accident investigation, accident reconstructions were conducted using multi‐body system (MBS) pedestrian and car model...
Vehicle handling and control is an essential aspect of intelligent driver assistance systems, a building block of the upcoming generation of ”smart cars”. A car’s handling is affected by (i) technological (engine, suspension, brakes, tires, wheels, steering, etc.), (ii) environmental (road condition, weather, traffic, etc.), and (iii) human (attentiveness, reactiveness, driver agility, etc.) fa...
The critical wind speed of overturning is one indices for the safety evaluations railway vehicles against crosswind. defined as when wheel loads on upwind side becomes zero, and often evaluated by “RTRI’s detailed equation”. In RTRI’s equation, lateral vibration inertia force car bodies considered acting forces affecting overturning. can be obtained from product acceleration mass, assumed past ...
To increase the efficiency of operation hopper car, it is proposed to improve by dividing body into two separate sections, which facilitates possibility transporting different types cargo. In order adapt car for transportation on railway ferries in international traffic, install its pivot beams knots fastening chain ties. Determination dynamic load load-bearing structure was performed mathemati...
Car-following models, as the most popular microscopic traffic flow modeling, is increasingly being used by transportation experts to evaluate new Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications. A number of factors including individual differences of age, gender, and risk-taking behavior, have been found to influence car-following behavior. This paper presents a novel idea to calculate ...
BACKGROUND Converging international evidence suggests that diabetes incidence is lower among adults living in more walkable neighbourhoods. The association between walkability and physical activity (PA), the presumed mediator of this relationship, has not been carefully examined in adults with type 2 diabetes. We investigated the associations of walkability with total PA occurring within home n...
