In this study, we proposed a method to find the fuzzy reliability of the network using fuzzy sum-of-disjoint product technique. We use the fuzzy graph theory techniques for addressing the reliability of a network with known minimal paths. We have also presented an efficient algorithm to find the reliability of the network.

Logistics service supply chains (LSSCs) are composed of several nodes, with distinct behaviors, that ensure moving a product or service from a producer to consumer. Given the usage of LSSC in many safety-critical applications, such as hospitals, it is very important to ensure their reliable operation. For this purpose, many LSSC structures are modelled using Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) an...

In this paper, reconfiguration problem of distribution network has been investigated toimprove reliability and reduce power loss by placement of renewable energy sources; i.e. solarcell and wind turbine. For this, four reliability indices are considered in objective function;which are as follows: System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI), System AverageInterruption Duration Index (SAI...

Reliability block diagram (RBD) models are a commonly used reliability analysis method. For static RBD models, combinatorial solution techniques are easy and efficient. However, static RBDs are limited in their ability to express varying system state, dependent events, and non-series-parallel topologies. A recent extension to RBDs, called Dynamic Reliability Block Diagrams (DRBD), has eliminate...

The aim of this study is to analyze the reliability modeling indices and to study the mechanical system of a thermal power plant. The reliability of a system, equipment and a product is very important aspect of quality for its consistence performance over its expected life span. In fact, uninterrupted service and hazard free operation is an essential requirement of large complex systems like el...

The distribution system is prone to failures and disturbances due to weather related issues and human errors. The distributed generation is expected to play a key role in the power system. The reliability of the power supply can be improved in the presence of distributed generation (DG). In this paper, general assessment of the impact of distributed generation (DG) on the distribution system re...

It is customary to assess the reliability of underground oil and gas pipelines in the presence of excessive loading and corrosion effects to ensure a leak-free transport of hazardous materials. The main idea behind this reliability analysis is to model the given pipeline system as a Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) of segments such that the reliability of an individual pipeline segment can be re...

Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) allow us to model the failure relationships of complex systems and their sub-components and are extensively used for system reliability, availability, dependability and maintainability analyses of many engineering systems. Traditionally, Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) are analyzed using paper-and-pencil proofs or computer simulations. Recently, formal techniq...

Today a lot of different physical architectures for Substation Automation systems are in use, depending on the functionality as well as on the used protocol and needed reliability. Due to the manufacturer chosen communication protocol for certain functionality classes or reliability classes compromises have to be made or higher costs result. The new Substation Automation Communication standard ...
