Epicoccum nigrum is a common mitosporic fungus of the Didymellaceae (Ascomycota) family known for the production of numerous secondary metabolites. Here, we present the 34.7-Mbp draft genome sequence of strain ICMP 19927 assembled from a range of short-insert and long-insert Illumina libraries.

We present the full genome of Phialocephala scopiformis DAOMC 229536 (Helotiales, Ascomycota), a foliar endophyte of white spruce from eastern Quebec. DAOMC 229536 produces the anti-insectan compound rugulosin, which inhibits a devastating forestry pest, the spruce budworm. This genome will enable fungal genotyping and host-endophyte evolutionary genomics in inoculated trees.

The genus Penicillium belongs to the phylum Ascomycota and includes a variety of fungal species important for food and drug production. We report the draft genome sequence of Penicillium brasilianum MG11. This strain was isolated from soil, and it was reported to produce different secondary metabolites.

Parmotrema is one of the larger genera segregated from Parmelia s. lat. Additional genera recently have been segregated from this large genus based mainly on morphological and chemical features. We have employed molecular data from three genes to continue a revision of the generic concept within the parmelioid lichens. A Bayesian analysis of nuclear ITS, LSU rDNA and mitochondrial SSU rDNA sequ...

Heavy metals are necessary at low concentration for biological activity, but they often toxic microorganisms high concentrations. Amplicon sequencing of 16S rRNA and 18S was used to investigate changes in the bacterial microeukaryotic communities an activated sludge bioreactor incrementally contaminated with nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn) IC 50 value ranging from 0% 100%, as previously det...
