Recently, amine-functionalized materials as a prospective chemical sorbent for post combustion CO₂ capture have gained great interest. However, the amine grafting for the traditional MCM-41, SBA-15, pore-expanded MCM-41 or SBA-15 supports can cause the pore volume and specific surface area of sorbents to decrease, significantly affecting the CO₂ adsorption-desorption dynamics. To overcome this ...

Background: Co(II) constitutes a part of vitamin B12, hence, it is necessary for human health. However, at concentrations higher than the permissible limits, humans and animals suffer adverse chronic effects. It is necessary to reduce the concentration to a permissible level. In the present study, pre-purification and thermal modification of chicken’s feather increased their porosity and ...

In this study the hardness SWCT was calculated with B3LYP,HF method and 3-21G,6-31G,6-311G basis set .Then it was investigated with the best method(B3LYP) and basis set(6-31G) to study the adsorption effects CO2 on the hardness of SWCNT with gap HOMO-LUMO in two shape: Horizontal, Vertical and Top-Center-Bridge and We also provide the effects of CO2 adsorption on the elect...

In this research. CO gas molthules were approached to single-wall carbon nanotube (SWNT) and (6,0) CNTsurface from carbon side and oxygen side in three states (top, bridge, centre) and two shapes ( erlica I.horizontal), then adsorption energies were calculated by B3TYP/6-310 B3LYPI3-216" and Hge3-210"methods after that they were compared m order to obtain the most stable adsorption state. OFT a...

Carbonaceous porous materials derived from leather skin residues have been found to have excellent CO₂ adsorption properties, with interestingly high gas selectivities for CO₂ (α > 200 at a gas composition of 15% CO₂/85% N₂, 273K, 1 bar) and capacities (>2 mmol·g-1 at 273 K). Both CO₂ isotherms and the high heat of adsorption pointed to the presence of strong binding sites for CO₂ which may be ...

the growth of Pt deposits on Co(0001) was followed by STM and XPS. The chemical reactivity of the resulting surface was checked by CO adsorption. Pt grows as dendritic islands on the Co terraces whereas forming stripes at the Co step edges. Annealing the sample has no apparent effect on the STM pictures. However, XPS suggests that a limited dilution of Pt in Co takes place. The adsorption of CO...

CO adsorption on the polar (% 1% 1% 1) surface of the intermetallic compound GaPd is examined within ab initio methods using an all-electron full-potential electronic structure approach. Comparison between the PW-LDA, GGA-PBE, GGA-RPBE, GGA-revPBE, and hybrid HSE06 functionals is considered through bulk, clean surface and CO adsorption calculations. The choice of the functional is found to have...

One possible factor determining recovery of trace amount of protein biomarker candidates during proteome analyses could be adsorption on urine tubes. This issue, however, has not been well addressed so far. Recently, a new technical device of surface coating by poly(2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC)-co-n-butyl methacrylate (BMA)) (poly(MPC-co-BMA)) has been developed mainly to prev...

In situ, temperature dependent, XAFS proved that Cr(II) grafted on SiO(2) is extracted from the surface upon CO adsorption at 100 K: DeltaR(Cr-O) = +0.08 A. CO adsorption evolves into two coverage dependent steps: (i) displacement of weak siloxane ligands (non-classical carbonyls); (ii) relaxation of R(Cr-O) surface bond, R(Cr-CO) optimization and transformation into classical carbonyls.
