In he title compound, C(13)H(16)N(4)O(3), the pyrazole ring is planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.054 Å). The pyran ring is not planar; the mean plane makes a dihedral angle of 1.9 (1)° with the pyrazole ring. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O inter-actions lead to a linear chain motif.

In the title compound, C21H24ClN3O3, the dihedral angle between the pyran ring (r.m.s. deviation = 0.037 Å) and the chloro-benzene ring is 88.56 (14)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O inter-actions, generating C(7) (001) chains.

In the title compound, C(16)H(11)N(3)O, the dihedral angles between the 3-cyano-benzene and benzene planes and the 1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one plane are 4.97 (9) and 9.91 (9)°, respectively.

A facile, convenient, green and environmentally benign one-pot three-component synthesis of poly-functionalized 4H-pyrans and 4H-chromenes is described. A basic ionic liquid 2-(2-hydroxyethoxy)ethaneammonium formate was found to be an efficient catalyst or catalytically active solvent for the synthesis of those important classes of heterocyclic compounds.
