The first sulfur labelled compound, [(2)H(4),(34)S]indolyl-3-acetothiohydroxamic acid, is incorporated into the phytoalexins cyclobrassinin and spirobrassinin and the indole glucosinolate glucobrassicin, indicating that both biosynthetic pathways are closely related.

An efficient and practical method for the synthesis of indolyl-nitroalkane derivatives catalyzed by N-bromosuccinimide is described. The generality of this method was demonstrated by synthesizing an array of diverse 3-substituted indole derivatives by the reaction of different beta-nitrostyrenes with various substituted indoles. Simple reaction conditions accompanied by good yields of indolyl-n...

This article presents research on the inclusion of biotechnological link in rose breeding. Roses are heterozygous plants and give splitting when propagated by seed. Therefore, clonal micropropagation has been included to reproduce preserve valuable genotypes new starting material. The aim this study was select type auxin its optimal concentrations for better Rhizogenesis micro-sprouts selected ...

Indoles are converted into α-carbolines in four steps by acylation at C-3, Boc-protection, olefination of the resulting 3-indolyl aldehydes or ketones to give N-Boc-3-indolyl alkenyl oxime O-methyl ethers, which upon heating to 240 °C under microwave irradiation undergo loss of the Boc-group, and 6π-electrocyclization to α-carbolines, following aromatization by loss of methanol (11 examples, 30...

Simple tris(indolyl)methene receptors 1-3 containing conjugated bisindole skeletons have been designed and synthesized. The anion binding and sensing properties have been studied using UV-vis spectroscopy and (1)H NMR titration technique. Compared with 3,3'-bis-indolyl phenylmethene (4), tris(indolyl)methene receptors could highly selectively detect F(-) based on two stages of proton transfer, ...

Symbiobacterium thermophilum is a syntrophic bacterium whose growth depends on coculture with a Bacillus sp. Recently, we discovered that CO(2) generated by Bacillus is the major inducer for the growth of S. thermophilum; however, the evidence suggested that an additional element is required for its full growth. Here, we studied the self-growth-inhibitory substances produced by S. thermophilum....

RuCl₃·3H₂O was found to be an effective catalyst for reactions of indoles, 2-methylthiophene, and 2-methylfuran with aldehydes to afford the corresponding bis(indolyl)methanes, bis(thienyl)methanes, and bis(fur-2-yl)methanes in moderate to excellent yields. Experimental results indicated that mono(indolyl)methanol is not the reaction intermediate under these reaction conditions.

BACKGROUND N-Heterocyclic indolyl glyoxylamide compounds are derived from the antimicrotubule agent D-24851, which exhibits anticancer activity after oral administration. The actions of these compounds on lung cancer cells are still unknown. Here, we investigated the effects of two N-heterocyclic indolyl glyoxylamides, BPR0C259 and BPR0C123, on non-small human lung cancer cells. MATERIALS AND...
