The sparsity-aware zero attractor least mean square (ZA-LMS) algorithm manifests much lower misadjustment in strongly sparse environment than its sparsity-agnostic counterpart, the least mean square (LMS), but is shown to perform worse than the LMS when sparsity of the impulse response decreases. The reweighted variant of the ZA-LMS, namely RZALMS shows robustness against this variation in spar...

Background and objectives: Uterine smooth muscle tumors are the most common human neoplasms. They are divided clinically as benign and malignant but there is another group of lesions which is difficult to place in these two categories, so-called (STUMP) and differentiation of these tumors on the basis of H&E staining is impossible. The aim of this study was to find a set of distinguishing objec...

This paper introduces a new variable step-size LMS (NVSS LMS) algorithm in an adaptive channel equalizer. This variant of VSS LMS algorithm is based on the weighting coefficinets bias/varance trade-off. We will show here that the adaptive equalizer with the NVSS LMS algorithm has favorable performance. Simulation results are provided to support the proposed implementation of the NVSS LMS.

The eLearning is a new modern tool of current learning system; it is becoming so important of the learning of the universities. The core of eLearning solutions is LMS or CMS (learning/course management systems), which help the university to automates the managing of learning events. Some of LMS are commercial Software, while others are free Open-Source LMS. The universities give more attention ...

OBJECTIVES To investigate the elastic properties of medium-size extracardiac arteries and veins between patients with and without left main stem coronary artery disease. METHODS The compliance, distensibility, and incremental elastic modulus (iEmod) of the internal thoracic arteries (n=53), long saphenous veins (n=38), and radial arteries (n=35) from 74 patients undergoing coronary surgery we...

Uterine leiomyosarcoma (LMS) develops more often in the muscle tissue layer of the uterine body than in the uterine cervix. The development of gynecologic tumors is often correlated with female hormone secretion; however, the development of uterine LMS is not substantially correlated with hormonal conditions, and the risk factors are not yet known. Importantly, a diagnostic-biomarker which dist...

The most obvious approach for integrating lecture recordings into a learning management system (LMS) is adding lecture videos to a course’s presence in the LMS. Delivery of lecture recordings and access control can thus be facilitated by the LMS. A broader approach is coupling LMS and lecture recording system at all phases of content production and use. This paper describes an approach bringing...

Background: Learning Management System (LMS) is a web-based system designed to support teaching and learning at an institution. The capabilities of any LMS are required to be evaluated to detect the room for improvement. This study aimed at discovering the students’ perceptions of the functions of the LMS at Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS).   Methods: This qualitative s...

Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is a malignant, soft-tissue tumor for which few effective therapies exist. Previously, we showed that there are three molecular subtypes of LMS. Here, we analyzed genes differentially expressed in each of the three LMS subtypes as compared to benign leiomyomas and then used the Connectivity Map (cmap) to calculate enrichment scores for the 1309 cmap drugs in order to identi...

Abstract. Adaptive inverse control of linear system with fixed learning rate least mean square (LMS) algorithm is improved by varying the learning rate. This variable learning rate LMS algorithm is proved to be convergent by using Lyapunov method. It has better performance especially when there is noise in command input signal. And it is simpler than the Variable Step-size Normalized LMS algori...
