In this paper, it is shown that the category of stratified $L$-generalized convergence spaces is monoidal closed if the underlying truth-value table $L$ is a complete residuated lattice. In particular, if the underlying truth-value table $L$ is a complete Heyting Algebra, the Cartesian closedness of the category is recaptured by our result.
The term ‘Master Data’ brings up different interpretations and connotations, especially with vendors espousing the “single version of the truth”. Is there a single version of the truth? Practical realities suggest that we need to continue to live with existing versions – at least until the “single version” is reached. So how do we handle the co-existence of “multiple versions” of the truth? Thi...
In this paper we solve the Knights and Spies Problem: In a room there are n people, each labelled with a unique number between 1 and n. A person may either be a knight or a spy. Knights always tell the truth, while spies may either lie or tell the truth, as they see fit. Each person in the room knows the identity of everyone else. Apart from this, all that is known is that strictly more knights...
Unlike news stories and product reviews which usually have a strong focus on a single topic, blog posts are often unstructured, and opinions expressed in blog posts do not necessarily correspond to a specific topic. This can lead to unsatisfactory performance of sentiment classification. In this paper we report our pilot study on addressing topic drift in blogs. We examine this phenomenon by ma...
In 1977, R. B. Angell presented a logic for analytic containment, a notion of “relevant” implication stronger than Anderson and Belnap’s entailment. In this paper I provide for the first time the logic of first degree analytic containment, as presented in [2] and [3], with a semantical characterization—leaving higher degree systems for future investigations. The semantical framework I introduce...

The present study was conducted at Ardabil University of Medical sciences, Ardabil, Iran, to investigate the attitudes of Turkish-speaking patients with cancer and their families to the disclosure of bad n...
Logic programming has generally been developed in a Classical two-valued setting; there are no “degrees of truth”. What we propose here is the introduction of more general spaces of truth values, reading truth values as “evidence factors”. Then conventional logic programming may be seen as the special case in which only total evidence is acceptable, and so the space of evidences degenerates to ...
This article demonstrates a part of findings of a research that has been designed with the intention of determining the characteristics of the desired public policy making system for achieving social justice. To begin with, James P. Sterba's categorization of alternative political perspectives to justice is reviewed and then "truth – oriented" justice is studied. To reach a precise and scholar...
