Objective Some individuals with Chronic Ankle Instability (CAI) termed as functional ankle instability (FAI) suffer from repetitive ankle giving way and feeling of ankle joint instability during dynamic activities like walking. Walking, as a postural task, requires some central attention to integrate sensory inputs, estimate, and plan and produce proper motor outputs. Attention demanding cognit...

We confirmed sympatric occurrence of Taenia solium, T. saginata, and T. asiatica in western Thailand. DNA analysis of morphologically identified T. saginata, in a dual infection with T. solium, indicated it was T. asiatica. To our knowledge, this report is the first of T. asiatica and a dual Taenia infection from Thailand.

In this paper, two axiomatic theories T ́ and T1 are constructed, which are dual to Tarski’s theory T+ (1930) of deductive systems based on classical propositional calculus. While in Tarski’s theory T+ the primitive notion is the classical consequence function (entailment) Cn+, in the dual theory T ́ it is replaced by the notion of Słupecki’s rejection consequence Cn ́ and in the dual theory T1 it...

Recent studies have challenged the long held concept that each T lymphocyte expresses on its surface only a single, unique alphabetaTCR. Dual TCR+ T cells have been recognized, however, their origin and potential to escape screening for self-reactivity remain obscure. We now report the thymic generation of dual alphabetaTCR+ T cells in the H-2Db/H-Y-specific TCR transgenic (Tg) mouse. Dual TCR+...

the objective of this study was to validate the use of bone mineral measurements of the calcaneus bone by dual x-ray and laser (dxl) in a cross-sectional study carried out in an osteoporosis clinic. measurements of bone mineral density (bmd) at proximal femur and spine were obtained by dual-energy photon x-ray absorptiometry (dexa). osteoporosis was defined by a dexa t-score <-2.5 at the femora...

By simultaneously considering evolution processes for parametric spline curves and implicitly defined curves, we formulate the framework of dual evolution. This allows us to combine the advantages of both representations. On the one hand, the implicit representation is used to guide the topology of the parametric curve and to formulate additional constraints, such as range constraints. On the o...

Let K be a compact Hausdorff space and C(K) the Banach space of all real-valued continuous functions on K , with the sup-norm. Types over C(K) (in the sense of Krivine and Maurey) can be uniquely represented by pairs ( ,u) of bounded real-valued functions on K , where is lower semicontinuous, u is upper semicontinuous, ≤ u, and (x) = u(x) for all isolated points x of K . A condition that charac...

A spanning tree T in a finite planar connected graph G determines a dual spanning tree T ∗ in the dual graph G∗ such that T and T ∗ do not intersect. We show that it is not always possible to find T in G such that the diameters of T and T ∗ are both within a uniform multiplicative constant (independent of G) of the diameters of their ambient graphs.
