Can the inclusion of new journals in the Science Citation Index be used for the indication of structural change in the database, and how can this change be compared with reorganizations of relations among previously included journals? Change in the number of journals (n) is distinguished from change in the number of journal categories (m). Although the number of journals can be considered as a ...

In this paper we propose a smoothing method for non smooth signals, which control the geometry of a sampled signal. The signal is considered as a geometric object and the smoothing is done using a smoothing kernel function that controls the curvature of the obtained smooth signal in a close neighborhood of a metric curvature measure of the original signal.

| In some signal reconstruction problems, a priori information can be used to set up observation equations that relate the several possible observations. These can be used for selecting the best combination of a reduced number of observations, before acquiring them. In this paper, we propose an eecient method to select such a combination. Our examples illustrate the value of this selection method.

In this paper, we present new results on the reconstruction of signals from one bit of Fourier transform phase, defined as th.e sign of the real part of the Fourier transform. Specifically, we develop a new theoretical result which shows that most twodimensioral signals can in fact be reconstructed to within a scale factor from only one bit of FT phase. Experimental results showing images recon...

We propose a method for the reconstruction of a complex signal from its Fourier phase only, where the phase is known within a linear phase term, and the sequence's length is unknown. The case of the phase known exactly has received a lot of attention in the past, however, in most cases the phase can be estimated up to a linear phase term whose slope is unknown. Moreover, in most cases of intere...

We present a novel method to remove tourists, cars and other moving objects from photos of monuments, buildings and other attractions. Typically, this is a manual process. Nevertheless, our method is fully automatic and requires neither image stabilization or advanced hardware during acquisition. The method requires a set of images taken from roughly the same location using any consumer photo o...

In this paper we study the recovery conditions of weighted l1 minimization for signal reconstruction from incomplete linear measurements when partial prior support information is available. We obtain that a high order RIP condition can guarantee stable and robust recovery of signals in bounded l2 and Dantzig selector noise settings. Meanwhile, we not only prove that the sufficient recovery cond...

3D q-space can be viewed as the surface of a 4D hypersphere. In this paper, we seek to develop a 4D hyperspherical interpretation of q-space by projecting it onto a hypersphere and subsequently modeling the q-space signal via 4D hyperspherical harmonics (HSH). Using this orthonormal basis, we analytically derive familiar q-space metrics and introduce a novel hyperspherical diffusivity measure. ...

Immunocytochemistry on sectioned tissue is a powerful method for determining the cellular and subcellular distributions of an epitope. However, where the expression is patterned, understanding the distribution often requires extensive, time-consuming threedimensional reconstruction with all its attendant artifacts. The techniques described in this unit circumvent these problems. The distributio...
