Two newly designed complexes, [Zn(L1)(EtOH)] (1) and [{Zn(L)(OAc)2}2Zn]·CHCl3 (2) derived from salamo and half-salamo chelating ligands (H2L and HL2) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR and UV-VIS spectra, fluorescence spectra, and X-ray crystallography. Complex 1 shows a slightly distorted tetragonal pyramid and forms an infinite 3D supramolecular structure. All o...

We present the design and performance of a high-temperature in situ cell with a large solid angle for fluorescence X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) spectra. The cell has a large fluorescence XAFS window (116 mm(ϕ)) near the sample in the cell, realizing a large half-cone angle of 56°. We use a small heater (25 × 35 mm(2)) to heat the sample locally to 873 K. We measured a Pt-SnO2 thin lay...

L-edge spectroscopy of 3d transition metals provides important electronic structure information and has been used in many fields. However, the use of this method for studying dilute aqueous systems, such as metalloenzymes, has not been prevalent because of severe radiation damage and the lack of suitable detection systems. Here we present spectra from a dilute Mn aqueous solution using a high-t...

The local environments of the four tryptophan residues of the extracellular domain of human tissue factor (sTF) were assessed from difference absorption and fluorescence spectra. The difference spectra were derived by subtracting spectra from single Trp-to-Phe or Trp-to-Tyr replacement mutants from the corresponding spectrum of the wild-type protein. Each of the mutants was capable of enhancing...

A compact X-ray emission instrument is made, and the X-ray spectra are measured by changing the applied electric potential. Strong soft X-rays are observed when evacuating roughly and applying a high voltage to an insulator settled in this device. The X-ray intensity is higher as the applied voltage is increased. A light-emitting phenomenon is observed when this device emits X-rays. The present...

the interaction between propranolol (prop) and human serum albumin (hsa) was studied in the presence of dimethyl methylphosphonate (dmmp). dmmp is usually considered as a simulant for chemical warfare agents (cwas). for this purpose fluorescence quenching, resonance light scattering (rls), synchronous, three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy and molecular dynamics (md) simulation were emplo...

Background: People occasionally undergo medical diagnostic X-ray examinations and expose their red blood cells to radiation. Radiation that is generated from medical diagnostic X-ray machines is widely used in medical diagnoses. One of the important parameters is kilo-voltage (kV) that is applied across the X-ray tube in medical diagnostic X-ray machines. Kilo-voltage influences the radiation d...

ZnFe2O4 nanocomposites have been prepared by a simple co‐precipitation method. The prepared samples were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Powder X‐ray Diffraction (XRD), Energy Disperse X‐ray Analysis (EDX), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV‐visible absorption spectral techniques. Conductivity measurements show a transition from ferrimagnetism to...

in this thesis, phosphorus ylides [phbppy], [no2bppy] and [brbppy] have been synthesized through the formation of phosphonium salt and dihydrogenation, followed by the reaction of pd(oac)2 and the orthopalladated dinuclear complexes [pd(?-cl)(phbppy)]2, [pd(?-cl)(no2bppy)]2 and [pd(?-cl)(brbppy)]2 have been produced. the reaction of dinuclear complexes and bidentate ligands [l = bipy (2,2-bipyr...
