O presente artigo tem como objeto a análise das representações da epidemia de varíola que assolou cidade do Rio Janeiro em 1908, deixando um saldo mais 6.400 mortos, no conto “A peste”, João Rio. Exemplo Paes (1985) classifica literatura-esgar estética art nouveau, o publicado originalmente na Gazeta Notícias e seguida reunido coletânea Dentro noite (1910), narrador principal esnobe Luciano Tor...
Serologic and molecular evidence indicates that peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV) infection has emerged in goats and sheep in the Ngari region of southwestern Tibet, People's Republic of China. Phylogenetic analysis confirms that the PPRV strain from Tibet is classified as lineage 4 and is closely related to viruses currently circulating in neighboring countries of southern Asia.
The complete genome sequence of a peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV) from goat samples collected in Sierra Leone in 2011 is reported here. The genome shows a higher nucleotide sequence identity (98.9%) with a lineage II PPRV from Senegal than to PPRVs from neighboring Liberia and Ivory Coast.
In 2014-2016, >1,000 wild goats and sheep in 4 northern and central provinces of Iran died from peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV) infection. Partial nucleoprotein sequencing of PPRV from 3 animals showed a close relationship to lineage 4 strains from China. Control measures are needed to preserve vulnerable ruminant populations.
We investigated peste des petits ruminants (PPR) infection in cattle and wildlife in northern Tanzania. No wildlife from protected ecosystems were seropositive. However, cattle from villages where an outbreak had occurred among small ruminants showed high PPR seropositivity, indicating that spillover infection affects cattle. Thus, cattle could be of value for PPR serosurveillance.
Here, we announce the complete genome sequence of a spontaneous mutant of peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV), termed China/BJ/2014, suggesting that PPRV continues to evolve. This information is crucial for developing strategies for the efficient prevention and control of PPRV.
We report here the complete genome sequence of a peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV) from the first outbreak of the disease in Georgia in January 2016. Genome sequencing was performed using Illumina next-generation sequencing technology in conjunction with Sanger sequencing. This PPRV/Georgia/Tbilisi/2016 genome sequence clustered within lineage IV PPRV viruses.
