The objective of this model is to investigate the inventory system for perishable items with linear demand pattern where Weibull deterioration is considered. The Economic order quantity is determined for minimizing the average total cost per unit time. The unit production cost is taken to be inversely related to the demand rate. The result is illustrated with numerical example.
⎯In many industries, sellers have the opportunity to enhance their revenues through the dynamic pricing of their perishable products such as flight seats, hotel rooms, or seasonal fashion goods that become worthless if they are not sold by a specific time. Therefore, how to dynamically adjust the prices of perishable products through differentiating the purchased time and the amount of unsold i...
The present work deals with the supply chain problems related to perishable products. The EOQ model has been used to analyze the data collected and suggest a ordering policy that will minimize the loses and maximize the organizational value. The work provides a suggestion for managers to take decision regarding use of self space and reordering of items depending on the inventory usage.
This article studies a perishable inventory system with production unit. The process is governed by (s, S) policy and it exponentially distributed. primary arrival follows Markovian process(MAP) the service time phase-type distributed random variable. inventoried items are subject to decay linear rate. A newly arriving customer realizes that running out of stock or server busy either moves infi...
This paper is concerned with a discrete time, discrete state inventory model for items of changing quality. Items are assumed to be in one of a finite number, , Q of quality classes that are ordered in such a way that Class 1 contains the best quality and the last class contains the pre-perishable quality. The changes of items' quality are dependent on the state of the ambient environment. Furt...
Market demand of the perishable bakery products are volatile. Hence, demand of such items are random variable. The most appealing demand distribution of such items is lognormal demand distribution. Using historical data, the parameters of lognormal distribution are obtained. But, there is a problem of overestimation or underestimation of the parameters. Fuzzy triangular numbers are used to ov...
Motivated by a food promotion problem, we introduce the Knapsack Problem for Perishable Items (KPPI) to address a dynamic problem of optimally filling a knapsack with items that disappear randomly. The KPPI naturally bridges the gap and elucidates the relation between the pspace-hard restless bandit problem and the np-hard knapsack problem. Our main result is a problem decomposition method resu...
