In TeleSurve (Telematics based Virtual Service Enterprise, a project supported by the European Commission 1998-1999 under Esprit 25537) an Electronic Commerce framework for the Virtual Service Enterprise was developed and demonstrated. Partners were empirica GmbH (D), Pallas Athena BV (NL), Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (GB), PC Security Ltd (GB, now Netlexis Ltd) as technical solution provide...

♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ Nowadays, many organizations form dynamic partnerships to deal effectively with market requirements. As companies use automated workflow systems to control their processes, a way of linking workflow processes in different organizations is useful in turning the cooperating companies into a seamless operating virtual enterprise. The CrossFlow Esprit project aims at developing information ...

This paper presents a first set of experiments to integrate a realistic electro-mechanical model of a beating heart into simulated real-time three-dimensional (RT3D) ultrasound data. A novel ultrasound simulation framework is presented, extended from the model of Meunier [12]. True three-dimensional transducer modeling was performed, using RT3D acquisition design. Myocardium and blood scatterin...

Many organisations are currently forced to collaborate with others in renewing their products and processes to stay competitive, to enter new or to retain their current markets, or to get easy access to new knowledge. Management of collaboration between two or more organisations is, however, still not well understood, given that about half of the collaborative endeavours fail. A methodology to ...

Requirements specification methods and techniques have hitherto mainly been concerned with promoting various representation formalisms for formally describing information systems. However the emphasis on system modelling is shifting to process modelling. Our concern is the modelling of the Requirements Engineering (RE) process. The particular RE process modelling approach presented in the paper...

In this paper, we investigate the exploitation of the polarimetric diversity signal properties in a bistatic polarimetric MIMO radar to improve the performance of joint estimation of direction of arrival (DOA) and direction of departure (DOD) of targets using combined ESPRIT-RootMUSIC technique. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the performance of the proposed approach.

These are tutorial notes for LPSS-92: the Logic Programming Summer School organised by the CompuLog Esprit Network of Excellence in September 1992. They are an introduction to the techniques of reasoning about logic programs, in particular for synthesizing, verifying, transforming and proving termination of logic programs.

In this work, we propose a subspace-based algorithm for direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation, referred to as two-step knowledge-aided iterative estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques (ESPRIT) method (Two-Step KAIESPRIT), which achieves more accurate estimates than those of prior art. The proposed Two-Step KAI-ESPRIT improves the estimation of the covariance matrix...
