A novel NHC–palladium(II) (NHC = N-heterocyclic carbene) complex and its immobilised version have been prepared and fully characterised. Optimisation studies led to good catalytic activities in Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling and chloroarene dehalogenation reactions.
