the use of ovarian stimulation for infertility treatment is associated with side effects of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (ohss) and potential cancer risk. this is also true in high risk women such as those polycystic with ovary (pco) and polycystic ovarian syndrome (pcos). in vitro maturation (ivm) of oocytes was primarily developed to make ivf safe for women with pco and at high risk of o...
background: human chorionic gonadotropin (hcg) has been used as a replacement for the mid-cycle luteinizing hormone (lh) surge for several years. the recent arrival of recombinant dna technology has made recombinant hcg (rhcg) accessible. objective: to assess efficacy of rhcg compared to urinary hcg (uhcg) for triggering of ovulation and induction of final oocyte maturation in assisted reproduc...
When the relevance feedback, which is one of the most popular information retrieval model, is used in an information retrieval system, a related word is extracted based on the first retrival result. Then these words are added into the original query, and retrieval is performed again using updated query. Generally, Using such query expansion technique, retrieval performance using the query expan...
Putative control of encoding and retrieval processes have been linked to communication between the lateral prefrontal cortex (LPFC) and the hippocampus. Moreover, correlations between the LPFC (e.g., MFG) and hippocampus have predicted individuals' ability to inhibit memory retrieval. Anatomically, differences in volume of the hippocampus have been related to changes in long-term episodic memor...

Oocyte quality is a key limiting factor in female fertility, yet we have a poor understanding of what constitutes oocyte quality or the mechanisms governing it. The ovarian follicular microenvironment and maternal signals, mediated primarily through granulosa cells (GCs) and cumulus cells (CCs), are responsible for nurturing oocyte growth, development and the gradual acquisition of oocyte devel...
Histological analysis was carried out on ovarian development in the picnic seabream, Acanthopagrus berda (Forsskål 1775) caught estuarine waters of Calicut, Kerala, India from January to December 2016. Four developmental phases oocyte were identified viz., oogonia proliferation and transformation into primary oocyte, growth phase, secondary phase maturation these are similar those described for...
Intracellular Ca(2+) oscillations at fertilization are responsible for triggering egg activation. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of the age of the oocyte donor and in-vitro maturation on the generation of Ca(2+) transients at fertilization. The results show that <10% of in-vivo and in-vitro matured oocytes from 19-day old mice develop to the blastocyst stage in vitro. In contra...
Cytokeratins have previously been shown to exist in the Xenopus oocyte cortex. Using three monoclonal antibodies against cytokeratins, we follow the appearance of cytokeratin-containing filaments, and their changes in distribution during oocyte differentiation and maturation. Cytokeratin-containing filaments are shown to change dramatically in distribution in the oocyte during its ontogeny.
