For a positive integer s, a graph Γ is called s-arc transitive if its full automorphism group AutΓ acts transitively on the set of s-arcs of Γ . Given a group G and a subset S of G with S = S−1 and 1 / ∈ S, let Γ = Cay(G, S) be the Cayley graph of G with respect to S and G R the set of right translations of G on G. Then G R forms a regular subgroup of AutΓ . A Cayley graph Γ = Cay(G, S) is call...
BACKGROUND A consensus definition for periprocedural myocardial infarction (MI) in coronary stent trials has not been established. Differences between a historic definition, based on modified World Health Organization (WHO) criteria, and a proposed universal definition have not been compared in a prospective clinical trial. METHODS AND RESULTS We randomly assigned 3687 patients with stable co...
Normal human peripheral blood contains a population of T cells (autologous reactive cells [ARC]) capable of proliferating in response to signals from autologous B cells and monocytes. Selective suicide of proliferating ARC with 5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine and light demonstrated that this ARC was responsive to signals coded for by genes more closely linked to the HLA-DR, than to the HLA-A, or HLA-B, ...
Arc is an activity-regulated neuronal protein, but little is known about its interactions, assembly into multiprotein complexes, and role in human disease and cognition. We applied an integrated proteomic and genetic strategy by targeting a tandem affinity purification (TAP) tag and Venus fluorescent protein into the endogenous Arc gene in mice. This allowed biochemical and proteomic characteri...
The Orai family of calcium channels includes the store-operated CRAC channels and store-independent, arachidonic acid (AA)-regulated ARC channels. Both depend on STIM1 for their activation but, whereas CRAC channel activation involves sensing the depletion of intracellular calcium stores via a luminal N terminal EF-hand of STIM1 in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane, ARC channels are exclu...
In this paper, we determine all connected 5-arc transitive cubic Cayley graphs on the alternating group A47; there are only two such graphs (up to isomorphism). By earlier work of the authors, these are the only two nonnormal connected cubic arc-transitive Cayley graphs for finite nonbelian simple groups, and so this paper completes the classification of such non-normal Cayley graphs.
Angelman syndrome (AS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that results from deletions or mutations in chromosome 15, which usually includes the UBE3A gene. Ube3A protein is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that ubiquitinates proteins and targets them for degradation. The immediate-early gene Arc, a master regulator of synaptic plasticity, was identified as a putative substrate of Ube3A, but there have been...
Activity-regulated, cytoskeleton-associated protein (Arc) was first identified as an immediate-early gene regulated by synaptic activity. We have studied its functional role in vivo using a gene-targeting approach. We found that Arc is encoded by a single exon, and Arc mRNA is ubiquitously expressed in early mouse embryos. Homozygous Arc mutants are severely growth-retarded, fail to gastrulate ...
