A single-step concentration and elution method is developed for detection of DNA in buffer, saliva, and blood. A nanotip capturing DNA using an electric field and capillary action is directly dissolved in buffer for qPCR analysis. The concentration yield and the relative parameters are compared with those of a commercial kit.

Aluminum nitride, an important member of the group III nitrides with the highest bandgap of about 6.2 eV, has excellent thermal conductivity, good electrical resistance, low dielectric loss, high piezoelectric response, and ideal thermal expansion, matching that of silicon. The interest in field-emission (FE) applications of AlN materials has grown because they exhibit a negative electron affin...

We successfully achieve the tip-enhanced nano Raman scattering images of a tungsten disulfide monolayer with optimizing a fabrication method of gold nanotip by controlling the concentration of etchant in an electrochemical etching process. By applying a square-wave voltage supplied from an arbitrary waveform generator to a gold wire, which is immersed in a hydrochloric acid solution diluted wit...

A method called nanotip ambient ionization mass spectrometry (NAIMS) is described, which applies high voltage between a tungsten nanotip and a metal plate to generate a plasma in which ionized analytes on the surface of the metal plate are directed to the inlet and analyzed by a mass spectrometer. The dependence of signal intensity is investigated as a function of the tip-to-plate distance, the...
