Median nerve entrapment in the elbow is a known but rare complication of pediatric elbow dislocations. It is classified on the anatomical basis of entrapment. Due to a variety of factors, it is often diagnosed late. Because of this, substantial injury occurs to the nerve, requiring some form of restorative surgery in addition to release from the joint. Such nerve injury has been treated in a va...

This describes the indivisible anastomosis of the main stem of median nerve with ulnar nerve through cubital tunnel followed by the anomaly of ulnar artery that appears as superficial ulnar artery. Both anomalies are found during the anatomical dissection of a grown-up male cadaver, on his right arm. Such case is very rare as, in the literature available to us, it has not been described.

Background: The median nerve is one of the most important branches of the brachial plexus. Due to the role of the median nerve in sensory and motor innervation of the forearm and hand in the upper limbs, its blood supply is very important. Awareness of variations in the blood supply pattern to this nerve reduces the incidence of necrosis and ischemia of the nerve during surgical and diagnostic ...

lipofibromatous hamartoma (lfh) is an extremely rare benign tumor, which is characterized by an excessive infiltration of the epineurium and perineurium by fibroadipose tissues. a 27-year-old woman was diagnosed with left carpal tunnel syndrome (cts) due to (lfh) of the median nerve. lfh was diagnosed by mri and sonography; the characteristic ultrasonographic feature of lfh showed a good correl...

Background: Two main muscles studied in the hand for evaluation of median nerve injuries are opponens pollicis (OP) and abductor pollicis brevis (APB). However, Riché-Cannieu communicating branch (RCCB) may limit the use of these muscles in electrodiagnosis. This condition is confusing in the case of median nerve injuries. This study was conducted to evaluate the prevalence of RCCB. &...

The timing of hypoglossal-facial nerve anastomosis is controversial. The present study was performed to clarify the influence of the timing of hypoglossal-facial nerve anastomosis on histological changes in the facial nerve and central nuclei using guinea pigs. The facial nerve was transected first at the labyrinthine portion, and then transected again at the stylomastoid foramen. Hypoglossal-f...
