The paper describes and improves on a Boolean neural network (NN) fan-in reduction algorithm, with a view to possible VLSI implementation of NNs using threshold gates (TGs). Constructive proofs are given for: (i) at least halving the size; (ii) reducing the depth from O(N) to O(logN). Lastly a fresh algorithm which reduces the size to polynomial is suggested.

We present the concept of bi-capacity as a generalization of capacities (or fuzzy measures). The Choquet integral w.r.t. bi-capacities is defined, and is a generalization of Cumulative Prospect Theory models. This new model can bring much more flexibility in representing preferences. Lastly, we introduce the Möbius transform of bi-capacities.

Status epilepticus is a very rare complication of electroconvulsive therapy. A case of a 58-year old patient with catatonic schizophrenia is reported who developed a status epilepticus after ECT. At a neurological critical care unit the status finally could be stopped. The origin of the epileptic status lastly remained unclear (German J Psychiatry 2013; 16(2): 81-83).

We propose a generalization of capacities which encompass in a large extent the class of Choquet’s capacities. Then, we define the class of probabilistic values over these capacities, which are values satisfying classical axioms, the well-known Shapley value being one. Lastly, we propose a value on these capacities by borrowing ideas from electric networks theory.
