This paper briefly describes a recent experience of using Jason for teaching Multi-Agent Systems. Jason is a Java-based interpreter for an extended version of AgentSpeak. The basic AgentSpeak programming language for BDI agents is rather simple, making Jason a suitable tool for students to put into practice some of the elements of the BDI theory covered in the lectures.

Diplopodia, or duplicated foot, is a rare congenital anomaly. It differs from polydactyly in that supernumerary metatarsal and tarsal bones are present as well as extra digits [1]. Only a few cases of this anomaly have been reported in the literature. Karchinov [1] reported six cases with associated hypoplasia or aplasia of the tibia. Hamanishi and colleagues [2] reported a case of diplopodia w...

This study aims to determine long-term spatial variability of wind and wave characteristics over the Sea Marmara. For this purpose, we produced four different datasets for a period 40 years (1979–2018) using calibrated default-setting SWAN models forced with both CFSR ERA-Interim winds inter-compared. The performance these is examined against height measurements 2015 at Silivri buoy station 27-...

Evolutionary developmental biology (evo-devo) offers both an account of developmental processes and also new integrative frameworks for analyzing interactions between development and evolution. Biologists and philosophers are keen on evo-devo in part because it appears to offer a comfort zone between, on the one hand, what some take to be the relative inability of mainstream evolutionary biolog...

More than 27 years of high precision satellite altimetry enables analysis recent changes in global mean sea level (GMSL). Several previous studies present estimates the trend and acceleration GMSL; however, all are exclusively performed with data from TOPEX/Poseidon, Jason-1, Jason-2 Jason-3 missions (TPJ data). In this study we extend record both time space by including independent ERS-1, ERS-...

In this paper we describe eJason, a prototype implementation of Jason, the well-known agent-oriented programming language, in Erlang, a concurrent functional programming language. The reason for choosing Erlang as the implementation vehicle is the surprising number of similarities between Jason and Erlang, e.g., both have their syntactical roots in logic programming, and share an actor-based pr...

AgentSpeak(L), together with its implementation Jason, is one of the most influential agent-oriented programming languages. Besides having a strong conceptual influence on the niche of BDI-inspired agent programming systems, Jason also serves as one of the primary tools for education of and experimentation with agent-oriented programming. Despite its popularity in the community, relatively litt...
