A protocol is presented for offline microfluidic NMR analysis hyphenated with supercritical chromatographic separation. The method demonstrates quantitative detection with good sensitivity. Typical sample amounts of 10 nanomoles can be detected in a fast and cost-effective manner.
Hyphenated gas chromatography (GC) (Chaturvedi & Nanda, 2010; Coleman III & Gordon, 2006) mainly refers to the coupling of the high-performance separation technique of gas chromatography with 1) information-rich and sophisticated GC detectors which otherwise can be mostly operated as a stand-alone instrument for chemical analysis, and 2) automated online sample preparation systems. The term “hy...
We explore the endeavours directed to development of electrochemical-based sensors for determination capsaicin and related compounds, starting from their use in hyphenated laboratory set-ups modern as stand-alone electroanalytical sensors.
We describe the results of a study that combines ERP recordings and sandwich priming, a variant of masked priming that provides a brief preview of the target prior to prime presentation (S. J. Lupker & C. J. Davis, 2009). This has been shown to increase the size of masked priming effects seen in behavioral responses. We found the same increase in sensitivity to ERP priming effects in an orthogr...
We report the use of a nanolitre nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy microfluidic chip hyphenated to a continuous-flow microlitre-microwave irradiation set-up, for on-line monitoring and rapid optimization of reaction conditions.
The present study used event-related potentials to examine the time-course of relative-position and absolute-position orthographic priming. Relative-position priming was examined using primes formed by a concatenated subset of the target word's letters (e.g., cllet/COLLECT vs. dlema/COLLECT), and absolute-position priming was investigated using hyphenated versions of these primes (c-lle-t/COLLE...
