Abstract The VEM (virtual element method) is commonly used in engineering due to its ability solve arbitrary node meshes. In this study, we propose a method determine the free surface of unconfined seepage problem soil-rock mixtures slop using advantages VEM. By cutting meshes iteration, our overcomes limitation fixed mesh solving surface, and numerical tests confirm accuracy proposed predictin...
Prompted by Hawking’s chronology protection conjecture, and by various other questions regarding the putative existence, stability, and chronological properties of traversable wormholes, a number of authors have presented calculations of the renormalized stress–energy tensor in wormhole spacetimes. In particular, the use of point–splitting techniques leads to expressions that contain the van Vl...
Assuming the seesaw mechanism for hierarchical neutrino masses, we calculate the heavy neutrino masses under the hypotheses that the mixing in the Dirac leptonic sector is similar to the quark mixing (VD ∼ VCKM) and that Mν ∼ Mu or Me, where Mν is the Dirac mass matrix of neutrinos. As a result we find that for Mν ∼ Mu the vacuum oscillation solution of the solar neutrino problem leads to a sca...
We calculate corrections to masses of massive neutrino mass–eigenstates, caused by vacuum polarization in the strong Coulomb fields of daughter heavy nuclei in the K–shell electron capture decays (EC) and positron (β+) decays of highly ionized heavy ions, investigated experimentally at GSI in Darmstadt. Some applications of the obtained results are discussed. c © Electronic Journal of Theoretic...
The double ratio (fBs/fBd)/(fDs/fDd) is calculated by QCD sum rules in heavy quark effective theory (HQET), both numerically and analytically. Our expression for the double ratio shows explicitly the dependence on the light quark masses, the heavy quark symmetry breaking and the vacuum condensates. The numerical result favors the double ratio to be a little greater than 1.
Cosmological arguments proving that the universe is dominated by invisible non-baryonic matter are reviewed. Possible physical candidates for dark matter particles are discussed. A particular attention is paid to non-compensated remnants of vacuum energy, to the question of stability of super-heavy relics, cosmological mass bounds for very heavy neutral lepton, and some other more exotic possib...
In the 1970s, regulations in some countries forced users of heavy residue to limit pollutant emissions at industrial sites, also forced producers to upgrade their heavy products for export and domestic use. For this reason Iran as a producer, exporter and consumer has to develop new upgrading processes. The most common processes for upgrading heavy oil are catalytic processes, but existence of ...
